I don't know what will happen when cat wanted to kill human, and human wanted to throw their cats away. Can you feel it guys, the pain, the loss of the cute little specie that dominates the mind of every cute people. Who said no! Hey, I love cats and I can't deny the fact that I don't own one because my parents don't like them because of the following reasons; they are scary, sofa murderer, traits addict, yarn lover, hair ball vomiter, sharp claws and most of all the scariest part, they can tame me or us!
When I start reading the book, I can't stop laughing from the beginning until the end. I don't like to end this but I'm not sure if this book is really humorous but I laugh till my sister kick me out of my room. My sister don't like animals and she hate cats especially black ones, she thought those cats were unlucky. Unfortunately black cats are cuter than other tricolored cats like the one with orange coat. I'm being choosy sometimes but hey, I think people have distinct taste.
The book, specifically if I'm not mistaken this is a coffee table book than a graphic novel or collection of graphic strips. It was collected and draw by a cat designer, kidding, I mean a designer and illustrator of SF Bay Area, Yasmine Surovec. Don't have any idea if she really had a cat, but for sure she have, how can she draw a funny event with cats if she never experience them before. I don't mean she's a cat but she's a cat lady.
It was started when she sketches some clever and sarcastic Cat Versus Human cartoons to relax then published it online in a small society of cat lovers, I mean on her own blog. You may visit some of her works at Cats Versus Human , I visited it and I saw some of her works were not really published on the book but the book summary said 'Now, a selection of 100 Cat Versus Human strips—many never previously published—can be found inside this inaugural collection of Cat Versus Human.', I don't know if that sentence really tells the truth but I superbly enjoyed it.
Don't mention the cute colors and drawings, it was like sitting in a tea party with Alice while eating Tacos with Indian curry while she suffers form over drinking spicy teas. I enjoyed curry, but please don't say yuck in front of my cat, it disgrace them. I'm soon to be an animal doctor and all I can say she have a good insight of cat behaviors! I want this be part of my next semester's text books. Counting the number of time I waste from looking to those pictures.

This is what a cat lady looked like. Grilled myself, but I don't like to marry a lady with a head of a cat and a sexy body of a lady. Anyway, can I adopt those cute cats at the side of the picture? Meow, the cute cat said and I shriek like hell!
This is what it looks like when you grow old with cats, anyway, I don't like to call you cat grandma and I'm lucky I don't have a grandmother who like cats. Still, this picture really disturbs me to the max!

(I don't know what to do, but I already prepare myself to fight for peace and to defeat, OMG, cute little cats. I can't, I can't kill them! Basic needs before reading this book, a mouth spray for anti bad breath for cats and a 3D glasses to make you a fool. Good day!)

Though the last fifteen or so years have seen me morph into more of a dog person, I DO love cats. I used to live with dozens of felines while growing up with my animal-hoarder mother, and I once had three furry babies of my own - Paisley, Jinx and Hector. I love their purring and their warm weight on your lap on a cold winter's night.

I literally laughed out loud during several parts of this book. Easy read cartoon. Relaxing and hilarious. If you love cats or hate cats you will still find it funny. Cats are crazy creatures and this book nailed it. Looking forward to reading the second one.

The only thing that is second-best to books about adorable kittens and their quirky behaviors shown in actual colored pictures is a comic book or any other written word that captures the spirit of Cat. In these easy-to-read comic strips the focus is all about Cat and what a relationship with the said looks like whether you are a human or dog.
Fortunately unlike some other internet-based books this one doesn't follow the famously bad grammar usage that many consider animals to use. That in and of itself makes this a desirably good book for me since I cannot stand the grammar used by so many others to make man higher and more superior than others around them.
Otherwise the illustrations were right on the dot even including some subjects that weren't children-friendly. My niece in this case was trying to show me the pictures and even reading some of the strips since the comic format attracted so much to her even when we were trying to make sure she didn't see some of the more risque sequences.
All in all a good book for older and more mature cat lovers who don't mind a bit more of the crude humor as well. But otherwise try to keep this particular book away from younger audiences that are fascinated with this child-friendly format unless you are alright with all the subjects that have been provided in these comics.

Cat vs Human is a comic skit about an owner with her cats and her obsession with everything with cats. Starting with Anatomy of a Cat Lady which is deathly funny and it goes on to the things that her cats do to her. Some can be totally relatable and some can be totally exaggerated.
It's fully illustrated in colour. The dialogues and fonts is by the artist's own hand. The characters and cats can look like it came from doing doodles on Paint Shop... which is probably correct. Plus, it's almost like an autobiographical comic from the author. The character and her pictures is the same actually.
She used a simple one or two page doodle to tell a random story about her with her boyfriend with a cat. Her neighbour and her with a cat. Her co-workers. Strangers. Families. The only repetitiveness is 'cat-loving'.
It's really hard to dislike this book.
I used to own cats a long time ago before I went to my matriculation college. I've been having my cat allergies for longer than that so when my family started to wean off cats, I'm starting to get better. Not. I'm still a cat lover who can't touch cat but my allergies erupted on non-cat things so, this book does help me became acquainted with the whole cat loving. (I have pets too.. my anak buah ler) I really miss having cats while reading this book. I really do enjoy this book even as a non-cat-having cat-allergic cat-lover.

I've had this on my shelf for ages, and picked it up this morning to give myself a little break from my current heavy(er) read, The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath.
Cat vs. Human is a VERY quick read - maybe 30 minutes max. I really enjoyed the author's drawing style (minimal details while still capturing the action of cats playing ... or murdering), and as a "cat lady" myself, I thought her insights were fairly accurate. I especially enjoyed the cute panels of kittens being sweet alternating between not so cute (but very realistic) panels with the same kittens shredding various body parts of the protagonist.
This is a good book for someone with cats (or lots of experience with cats). If you're not a "cat person," you won't love it. It's not written for "dog people"!

Really this is just a fantastic book if you love cats. If you hate cats, it might still be a fun read, because you probably hate them for all the things they do. I really loved all these comics, and cannot believe I had never heard of the Cat Versus Human website. This book had me laughing and nodding the whole time. I will definitely have to grab a hard copy with color illustrations, that I can flip through again and again!

I've made a habit of reading during the commute to and from the office. Yesterday, when I finished 1Q84 (Part 1) on the way to the office I knew I had to find something to fill the gap. I picked this up from our quarterly book swap stash.
It was mostly funny. It's funnier if you own a cat or several cats so the jokes are relate-able. I noticed some of the passengers sitting beside me were looking over my shoulder to read as well so it does have its appeal.
All in all, not a bad choice for a reading commuter.

I don't usually have high expectations for small cartoon books like these. But this book blew away my expectations. It was funny, cute and at times a little dark. But I loved every second of it. It was also longer than I expected. Great book!

Entertaining, but nothing that stands out. I would recommend this for cat lovers or anyone looking for a super quick and light graphic novel.

Unfunny. Obvious. A regurgitation--a giant hairball, if you will--of every comic about cats you have ever seen float past on Facebook or Tumblr or Twitter. You may have even seen some of these particular cartoons in isolation and thought, "Ha." Singly, they are cuteness and amusement-adjacent enough for a not unpleasant "indeed" reaction. But put them together, and it becomes painfully obvious that there's not a single original idea or anything resembling actual humor here.
I can see why this was on our work's free shelf.

Pretty funny book about the habits and antics of cats and their humans. There were many relatable situations in this book between the cats and their human. It had me giggling but there was also quite a bit of the same things repeated over and over again. It was a little above middle of the road as far as funny cat books go.

I should’ve loved this but I only laughed at a few of the comics. There seemed to be this common thread of “cats will claw the hell out of their owners” running through the book, which I disagree with. There was also some fat shaming, so I’m going to pass on the rest of the books in this series. There are so many better cat comics out there!
