This cookbook is excellent! I use it all the time and have found only a handful of recipes that weren't amazing. I can say without qualification: I love this cookbook.
I love that Sarah Leah Chase is not afraid of flavor and spices. She rarely steers me wrong. I have been asked for more of her recipes than any other cookbook I use.
1 Random comment: I believe Sarah to be a giantess. Some of her recipes call for crazy large skillets (to hold 18 chicken thighs?). One oatmeal cookie recipe calls for 3lbs of oats and makes 1 doz cookies. *Boggles*
2 Complaints: (1) Sarah's recipes can be pricey because she is fond of adding liquors or other gourmet ingredients. They taste fantastic, but I'd love some hints for scrooging up the dishes without sacrificing too much taste. (2) The binding on the book is crappy and tends to quickly fall apart.
