'This warm and wonderful book will be a tremendous help to very many'
Christopher Ash, Writer-in-Residence, Tyndale House, Cambridge.

What does it mean to walk in the way of Jesus?
What if reading the same scriptures that he read, and praying the same prayers that he prayed, made following Jesus easier?

The Psalms are intended for people who would follow Christ along his path of trust and obedience. Andrew Shead shows us that we can follow Christ through the book of Psalms, a journey through many hardships that ends in joy. He combines an appreciation for the overall story of the book of Psalms, the art of reading poetry well, and the discipline of biblical theology to invite you to follow Christ more faithfully.

Andrew Shead’s Walk His Way is a rare gem. It is deeply theological, pastorally rich, and devotionally warm. More than just a collection of reflections on individual psalms, this book offers a sweeping overview of the entire Psalter. Shead doesn’t simply walk us through a few well-known songs; he helps us see the story the whole book is telling and how each psalm fits within it.

What sets this book apart is the way it weaves together biblical theology, literary insight, and gospel-centered application. Shead masterfully shows how every psalm—whether it’s a cry of anguish, a song of praise, or a plea for justice—finds its fulfillment in Christ. The result is a book that doesn’t just inform, but transforms. Readers are invited not only to understand the psalms, but to sing them, pray them, and follow the One to whom they all point.

Whether you're a pastor preparing to preach through the Psalms or a Christian longing to rediscover these ancient songs, Walk His Way is an essential guide. It’s theologically grounded, spiritually nourishing, and profoundly Christ-centered. Highly recommended.

A joyful and hopeful meander through the psalms, drawing attention to and guided by Wilson’s structure of the “books” of the psalter. It is a nuanced yet boldly christological reading, which will help Christians see how one may read the Trinity out of the psalms.
