A breathtaking story of deep longing, swoon-worthy angst and unwavering love in this brother’s best friend romance.
Amelia Campbell has been in love with her brother's best friend, Logan Davis, for as long as she can remember—but after a devastating night in Mexico three years ago, she resolves to finally forget about him. Now, after dumping her latest boyfriend for cheating on her, Amelia is thrown for a loop when Logan attends the annual family vacation in Breckenridge for Thanksgiving.
Things with Logan have been awkward-at-best for years, but Amelia is determined to take advantage of the opportunity to apologize for her past mistakes in an attempt to get their friendship back on track. She quickly finds out, though, that she may not be the only one still simmering with old, persistent feelings.
Will things be different this time? Or will deep fears from past trauma get in the way of their one real chance to get things right?
Michaela Jean Taylor is a hopeless romantic from the western desert who writes grippingly tender romance novels featuring diverse characters and messy, beautifully relatable storylines.
I can only hope that you will love Logan and Amelia as much as I do. Writing their story has been the adventure of my life and I cannot WAIT to get these two lovers in your hands <3 <3
All I will say is that I absolutely loved this story, these characters deserved so much 🥹 and to see them finally get their HEA in the end was such a proud reader moment!! 😭❤️
what a great debut novel! i really enjoyed this book! it was so sweet and a little spicey and full of love and heartbreak. i felt so bad for logan for what he went through but found myself feeling happy for him bc he found a great family within the Campbells. i think logan was my favorite MC, he had so many layers and i could feel how badly he didn’t want to screw things up. Amelia was also amazing. he character was so funny and charismatic and i could also feel how deeply she loved, whether it was logan or her family. the dual POV was great bc i loved how it lead up to the present and kinda showed us who they were as kids and growing into themselves and how they always looked to and for each other no matter what. my only con was that i wanted to see more of logan’s perspective!!!! if that can even be a con lol. the epilogue was so nice. i loved reading how he felt about amelia. such a really amazing book overall. if you like brothers bestfriend, second chance romance, and bestfriends to lovers you should read this. it comes out on april 4th!!
I'm so impressed that this beautiful story is Michaela's debut romance novel, and cannot wait to read everything she writes from now on!
Amelia has been in love with her older brother's best friend, Logan, since she was just a kid. She is certain that the fire she feels for him is reciprocated, but anytime the two have gotten too close to the line Logan pulls away. Their friendship has been strained for several years when they see each other at her family's home for Thanksgiving. It turns out that the attraction goes both ways, and now Amelia and Logan have to decide whether to take things further and risk it all for a try at love.
Where do I start with what I loved here? When I saw a chapter towards the beginning that was labeled seventeen years ago (age 8), I knew I was going to be all in on this one. There is something so endearing about seeing our main characters forming a bond and following that bond as it grows and changes over the years. We see Amelia deal with those confusing do I like this boy feelings as a pre-adolescent, see Logan's protective side flare when she dates other men, and see the first of the sparks bursting to life.
Their relationship in present day is dreamy, swoon-worthy, intense, and incredibly special. Logan had an awful childhood and still feels broken on the inside, yet 'Mills' makes him feel understood, cared for, and worthy. His childhood trauma made him such a complex character with a huge heart who tries to help others with obstacles in their path.
I adored the sibling bond between Amelia and her brother Adam. They are siblings who are also friends, who were raised by some amazing parents, and who deeply care for another. Their parents are incredible, which you learn quickly while reading about their childhood.
Amelia left her cheating ex boyfriend to move in with her older brother until she can find a new apartment. Soon after she moves in, they have to travel home for thanksgiving and her brothers best friend Logan tags along. Logan and her brother have been friends since kindergarten and Amelia has always had a thing for him, but she hasn’t seen him in a few years and their relationship is strained.
I LOVE childhood friends to lovers. The angst, the emotions, it all just gets me good. I liked this one especially because it had past to present chapters so we really got to see the bond that they had growing up with Logan being her brothers best friend. Logan had a hard childhood and was basically taken in by Amelia’s family, which made her attraction to him that much more complicated. He was so guarded growing up and it transferred into adulthood trying to keep himself from her. This was written in just Amelia’s perspective but you could still tell how much Logan cared for her even back then. So swoony and emotional and felt so real 🥹
If you liked Love and Other Words by Christina Lauren (dual timeline, childhood friends to lovers) or Powerless by Elise Silver (boy with a troubled past, childhood friends/family) I think you’ll really like this!
this book!!!! WOW michaela really gave all my fav tropes in one book: childhood besties to lovers WITH SECOND chance but wait…HE’S ALSO HER BROTHER’S BEST FRIEND? and he’s also a broken boy that always feels better when she’s around? yes, she really delivered it all.
i must say i’m not a huge fan of dual timeline but i felt like in this book i needed it and it was so wholesome to see the way they always reacted to each other no matter what. i loved second chance romances so SO much and this one was absolutely incredible. the angst, the emotions, the heartache, i loved every minute of it and i was rooting for them with every fiber of my being.
i got so attached to these characters, to all of them. to amelia, to logan, to adam and their parents, to rachel and to logan’s found family at the shop.
i can’t wait to see more of michaela’s stories. her writing is just absolutely incredible, i was obsessed.
this book comes out april 4th so don’t forget to add it here on your goodreads and buy it when the time comes!!!
let’s start by saying i’ve been in a reading slump for 2 months but this book! this book made me fall in love with reading all over again.
ugh, this was so beautifully written. that was the first thing i noticed and took a note of, the author’s writing style flows so beautifully. & everything about this book was so well thought of.
found family!!!!!!!!! ahhh the healthy communication, not just between the MCs but also the heartwarming relationships they each both have with amelia’s family truly truly made this book.
i loved reading about the back stories of both MCs and the growth they both developed through the time jumps chapters.
i feel so much for logan. his story pulled on my heartstrings and i genuinely root for him and amelia. he deserves nothing but great love.
and the way logan and amelia love each other so fervently even when they weren’t together yet shut the fuck up rn or imma cry.
it was fine until it wasn’t. i was enjoying the whole brother’s best friend and second chance aspect, but then when they got together (super early on btw???), it felt very insta-lovey and it fell off for me.
i think i would’ve liked this a lot more if their connection felt real and what they said didn’t make me roll my eyes until they fell out of my head.
We love a second chance romance with dual time povs to get even more of their relationship <3 I absolutely loveeee Amelia with my whole heart and same goes for the other amazing characters!
Super interesting story! Amazing writing style and characters!
Can‘t wait to read even more in the future from Michaela 🫶
The book comes out April 4th so guys add it to your tbr and be hyped ✨🫶
Oh my gosh this book was beautiful! I love a brothers best friend trope to begin with, but this was so wonderfully done! The dual time lines were actually really helpful and done so well that it didn’t feel confusing at all. I loved seeing how far back and where all of the sparks started between Amelia & Logan.
The ANGST!!! Ahh. You could just tell they both had such a love for one another the whole time. I truly loved this book and felt so invested in their happily ever after.
Logan has childhood demons he is trying to deal with and Amelia is so patient and compassionate with him while also urging him to overcome them. Overall this was a beautiful story with such heartwarming moments. I would absolutely recommend this.
If you enjoy a brothers best friend, friends to lovers, second chance kind of romance I would suggest you read this.
Everything about this book so refreshing and heartfelt and I just loved every second of it 😭 I can’t wait until it comes out so I can get the physical copy 🥲
This was truly such a beautiful story between Amelia and Logan - Amelia was one of the sweetest girls ever and she was just so caring and loving and just brought so much joy to the story, and LOGAN 😭 I’m obsessed with him. He was literally just all around perfect, he was so genuine and kind despite his past, and UGH I just loved it
Michaela really put her all into this book, and you can tell. Not only that, but we get brothers best friend, second chance romance AND childhood friends to lovers??? This book was just everything and more and I enjoyed it so so much 🥹
This book has everything you could ever want in romance novel. It has the heart, the spicy, the chemistry. I loved the family dynamic, brothers best friend feel of this book. Logan was such a deep character to read about and overall was one of my favorite MMCs in that emotional way. (And not just bc my bfs name is also Logan D 🤭) The dual timeline really allows the reader to experience the chemistry between these two at such a heart felt level, as well as the trauma Logan endured in his childhood. I love a good childhood friends to lovers but this book felt like so much more than that and I loved every second of it! The angst of this book is something I’ll never forget, and the spice, when it hit, IT HIT! Beautiful story and i’m so happy I got to experience it.
Holy hell was this one amazing debut novel. I am already a complete sucker for the brothers best-friend trope but this was another level, it was so beautifully written I couldn't contain the smile on my face through every new chapter.
I normally do not like dual timelines because I get confused but these were slipped in so well and I felt that they really added to the beauty of this particular love story. Getting to see all the moments that led up to them and all the times they tried to pretend everything was platonic really had me kicking and giggling. The angst was IMMACULATE. You could feel the push and pull between them even in the flashbacks, the heated stares, the jealousy, the half developed heated moments.
"You make it hard to breathe, Mills."
LIKE HELLO?! the intensity. 😫They held so many and such strong feelings for each other and I found myself so invested in their happily ever after. The imagery in this book was also amazing. I felt like I could envision every scene with the attention to detail that was put into it.
What really did it for me in this book though was the mmc, the realism in Logan really pulled my heart strings. It so realistically depicted the struggles of trying to be happy and trust love after growing up with a bad childhood. And Amelia was so perfect for him, she showed him a level of compassion and love that every person with his childhood deserves. I loved her character with all my heart, she reminds me of the tiktok audio where it's like "what do you want to be when you grow up?" And the other voice responds with "kind." Because I feel like Amelia was the epitome of understanding and warmth. I felt so safe with these characters, the familiarity of Logan, and the warmth of Amelia.
I loved how the author made a point to show how self love and growth from our own traumas is really the only way to fully and freely be able to love another person. We often forget to love ourselves first when we get so wrapped up in these whirlwind relationships and I loved the way she displayed the journey during this book.
The love in this book was so surreal. I truly felt as if these characters were soulmates, as if they were friends of mine and I was watching them fall deeply in love. If you need a book that's like a angsty, beautiful, big warm hug, then this book is for you. I will never ever be over this love story. <33
“I wasn’t even sure exactly when it happened, if it was within a single moment or a hundred moments over the years—but it’d happened”
⭐️: 5/5 🌶️: 1.5/5
Amelia finds herself living with her brother after breaking up with her garbage ex (an insult to garbage). While visiting her family for thanksgiving she comes face to face again with her brother's best friend Logan and she can’t seem to shake the return of all the feelings she's ever had for him over the years. But it’s not that simple. It’s never that simple. Will fear keep them apart? Will they finally give in and stop fighting a battle they know they’re not going to win? Will the trauma from their past keep them apart or will they finally take a chance to take what they both fully deserve?

Listen. The dedication of this book alone left a permanent mark on my soul. I legit cried real tears when I read it and I just knew this read was going to be an emotional one for me and I was right.
Aaaah I loved this read. Oh my gosh it was exactly what I didn’t know I needed. I absolutely loved the dual timeline! I love how it tells us everything we need to know that led to this moment without making Logan and Amelia’s relationship appear like an instalove which I love! I loved every single character in this book. Adam, Rachel, Logan, Amelia, even their parents. And of course don’t forget the doggo!
And I want to thank Michaela for giving us grown adult characters that know what communication is! I LOVE THAT FOR US!! 😅💕
The topics discussed in this love story of being held back by your past traumas, fears and mistakes is so incredibly relatable and absolutely beautifully executed. I’ve told you guys in the past I love a romance book that’s relatable. I don’t know to be honest I have so much to say and my words fail me. All I know is I loved this read. I picked it up and couldn’t put it down!

Read if you like: ~Childhood friends to lovers ~Brothers best friend ~Mutual pining ~Dual timeline
This follows Amelia, who recently caught her bf cheating and is forced to move in with her brother. And Logan, her brothers best friend who has always been like an extension of their family. Over Thanksgiving, the two are forced to spend time together and realize their relationship is way more than just a lifelong friendship.
Let me start by saying that it absolutely blows my mind that this is Michaela’s debut novel. The way she wrote this book and was able to create characters with so much depth, feeling, passion, angst and love for each-other blew me away.
I really loved Amelia and as a bookworm who also does digital marketing for her 9-5, I instantly connected with her. It did take me some more time to connect with Logan, but once he started to open up about his feelings towards Amelia and what held him back, I feel head over heels for him.
I loved that we got to see a dual timeline in this. It really helped connect these characters with their childhood and events that happened that lead them to each-other. Their romance was so pure and I loved seeing them interact with each other but also their families.
The only thing that would’ve made this even better was dual pov. I think that would’ve helped connect with Logan’s character and his back story even more!
I would absolutely recommend to everyone, especially if you love friends to lovers!! This reminds me so much of Love and Other Words so def pick it up if that’s a favorite of yours.
Who else loves a phenomenal debut novel? 🙋🏻♀️ Michaela aimed for the stars and far-surpassed them. Seriously, Only You was a very welcome change of pace for me and I’m so happy I decided to read it pre-This Love🫶🏼
Only You follows Amelia (Millie) and Logan’s story, and wow, is it endearing, sweet and spicy all in one! The novel does switch tenses- present to past and back to present -but it’s all very smooth and easy to keep track of.
I love a good brother’s best friend + childhood crush trope, y’all, and their story was perfect in the most imperfect way. The development of these MCs as individuals, and as a couple, was beautiful. Very much on the realistic side, what some of us may more easily connect with!
This love story is also a journey of self-healing and forgiveness, which I adore. Logan has a lot of childhood trauma that he works through as the book unfolds and it hit me right in the chest. My freaking heart🥹 Seeing this fiercely protective MMC have the tables turned on him, the FMC letting him see that it’s okay to let someone else protect him for a change… This love story is one of a kind and I loved every moment🫶🏼
"Since we were kids, you've had this way of . . . I don't even know, Amelia. Seeing me. Feeling me. You were like this bright light, casting away all of my dark corners…”
I mean, come on🥹😭 Don’t we all just want someone who feels this way about us? Michaela has me in my feelings ❤️
I read this book in one sitting which I haven’t done in a long time! The brother’s best friend trope is one of my favorites so I was super excited to have the chance to read Michaela’s debut early. I will be the first to say I’m really picky with this trope, but I think this was done really well! I was emotionally connected to both Amelia and Logan and rooting for them the whole time. I don’t typically like flashback chapters but they were definitely necessary in this one and I liked that we got to see their relationship grow and change and how it led up to the big incident we’ve been waiting to find out about. Logan went through so much, I just love him and how much he loves Amelia and her family. I feel like in most Brother’s best friend books, the brother is kind of a bad guy. Him being the reason they can’t be together. But I liked Adam, he was always there for his sister and was pretty quick to realize his mistake later on in the story. I loved the ending!! Such a good, emotional, romance.

Thank you to the author for the free digital copy of this book. I was not required to leave a positive review. All thoughts are my own.
Wow! I loved this book! Such a well written romance - I had to double check to see if this really was a debut. Logan has been part of his best friend's family for almost his whole life. He and Adam were practically inseparable, and along for the ride was Adams's younger sister, Amelia. Amelia and Logan always had a close bond too. Amelia knew she loved Logan, but after a disastrous night in Mexico (and we really don't know what happened until late in the book) she was determined to move on with her life and towards other relationships. When Logan comes to her parents for the Thanksgiving holiday, Amelia hopes to make amends and at least resume the friendship they once shared. I really couldn't put this book down! The characters are so well developed. I could feel the emotions...Logan and Amelia's pain, her desires, Liz's pride, the Cambell's warmth. The angst and heartaches were felt in my stomach, and they weren't forced or unnatural. Bravo!!
I love a good brother’s best friend and childhood friends to lovers storyline and Only You delivered with every pull-on-your-heartstrings chapter. 📕
This debut indie-author wrote a first-time-together scene that is the raw definition of two souls and hearts finally uniting. ❤️🔥
FMC Amelia’s deeply rooted, feel-it-in-your-bones, all consuming love for MMC Logan is palpable. Her devotion and adoration for him demonstrates that love is worth fighting for, that he is worth fighting for, and that their time is now. She isn’t afraid to prove to him, and to her brother, that their love won’t rip their lives apart, but push them towards their happily ever after. 💖
This beautifully written love story will have you rooting for Amelia and Logan, chugging coffee to stay up late to finish, and grinning ear-to-ear at the prologue which ties everything together in a pretty romantic bow! 💝

I think my new thing is crying once a book is done. Crying to mourn the story is over. That’s exactly what is (currently happening) with this.
Not only am I over the moon excited, ecstatic, all the happy feelings for my bestie Michaela for writing such a beautiful story, but I am overly in love with Logan and Amelia.
I was routing for them the entire story. Logan is the sweetest, most charming, genuine, man I’ve read. And Amelia, she is light. She is everything there is good in the world, and as a partner.
The flashbacks help you understand the nature and love that grew between the two in their younger years. The pain they felt, the obstacles. The spicy scene 🥵 oh girl you got me there.
Michaela truly delivered with this book! Once I picked this book up I couldn't put it back down. I love the passion and desire that Logan and Amelia have for each other. Most importantly, I love the way these two characters love each other and how they were simply perfect together like they were each others missing piece. This book is the perfect depiction of second chance romance and childhood friend to lovers. I truly did not want this book to end, it was such a heartwarming romance to read.
Preorder this book now, you do not want to miss out!
Adam and Rachel book next? 👀👀
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to read this and review it, cannot wait to see what the future has in store for you💙
this book & audio are fantastic!! THE TENSION!! these characters had the best journey of growing together and loving one another. i loved the past and present timelines. i feel like it really allowed us to see the depth of logan & amelia and highlighted how far they’ve come. brothers best friend always hits for me and if you add in a sprinkle of second chance i’m done for!! logan was amazing and i loved getting to see his discovery of self love and amelia was just the steadiness he needed in his life!
This book was so wonderful! The writing style was easy to read and follow, short chapters are always a win, and the characters were easy to love! This story flips between the past and present, and allows you to see how much growth both the main characters have throughout their lives.
If you're looking for a brothers best friend, second chance romance type of book- make sure you pick this one up! I cannot wait to read more books by Michaela Jean Taylor in the future!
This book actually warmed my heart. I love a good second chance romance with a man who has a rough history. AND he’s brother’s best friend. . . I’m sold instantly. This close knit family had me smiling the whole time. Logan is charming and so easy to love. Amelia is so sweet, I quickly came to admire her. This story was beautifully dreamy!!

*Debut novel!!
Troubled past, childhood friends to lovers, loved the dual timeline because we got to see part of their past. I wish it was dual pov, I would have loved to see Logan’s view 🥹 Cute story, spicy but fades to black.
The fact that this is a debut book is unbelievable. The writing, the story line, all of it is absolutely stunning. I loved every single second of it and the characters were so easy to love as well. The only thing I ask is for a book with Logan’s POV, please and thank you 😂
This book was very cute. I really liked the main characters Logan and Amelia. Their story was adorable and I really enjoyed reading it. The author was very descriptive on very minor details to many adjectives ( describing meals, weather, people) it just irritated me a little. Other than that very cute simple read!
