As lovely as the Meet the Orchestra book (by the same duo) was. Lyrical words yet informative and succinct. Wonderful illustrations. Its my son's favorite book.

"Meet the Marching Smithereens" is a fun book about a marching band of zoo animals that are parading down the street. Instruments like the sousaphone, bass drum, piccolo, trumpet, and much more are introduced in detail. This book would be fun to read in a 3rd or 4th grade classroom, where band or orchestra is first being introduced to get students excited about the instrument they want to play.
