Yeah, when I put up a reservation for this from the library I had no idea that it was actually the Penguin Readers edition, and that it would be 50 pages of horrible writing that was dumbed down 10 levels. It made the story suck, while I think that the actual book should be amazing.
I'm of course going to read the actual sequel, actually written by Michael Crichton (instead of Janet Mcalpin?!) and then I hope that I can rate it a bit higher. This was, however, a very quick read and it probably won't take me as long to get into the story again, since I already know the whole plot line (AND THE SPOILERS!) GOD can you tell I'm kinda mad???
I'm just really glad to read famous stories like this, even though it is a version retold. I saw the film so I was a little confused at beginning of the story because the setting is different.
