In the present era of information technology, it becomes necessary to update the information generated by researchers for the use of scientists, professionals and the industry. In order to keep pace with the latest developments in science and technology, the subject of information theory has to be integrated in such a way as to boost research in other disciplines. Therefore, the present effort is to bring out the volume which can be useful to different disciplines of theoretical sciences. The two basic concepts, viz, entropy and coding are closely related to each other. In coding theory, we develop optimal and uniquely decipherable codes by using various measures of entropy, and these codes find tremendous applications in defense and banking industry. The contents of the book provide a study of uniquely decipherable codes.
