This is a great book for families dealing with long and multiple deployments. On one level, it is a children's book that teaches children about taking things one step at a time and that they are not alone. On another level, it is a book with really great ideas on how to keep the deployed parent a vital part of their children's lives while at the same time encouraging the parent who is away from home.
This is a sweet short story about a little girl whose daddy has deployed. It gives wonderful ideas about what a child can do with and for their parent during a deployment. Deployments are so hard, especially for kids but when they have ideas to help pass the time and things to look forward to it really does help. We've been through 3 long deployments so I speak from experience.
