Debbi Rawlins currently lives with her husband in Las Vegas, Nevada. A native of Hawaii, she married on Maui and has since lived in Cincinnati, Chicago, Tulsa, Houston, Detroit, and Durham, North Carolina during the past twenty years.

Now that she's had enough of the gypsy life, it'll take a crane, a bulldozer, and a forklift to get her out of her new home. Not that her friends would let her leave Las Vegas even if she wanted to. Debbi's home has become a retreat for writers from both coasts and her guest rooms are rarely empty.

Average spring break romance

The week before she's set to change her conservative, boring life and take a risk on a new business venture, practical accountant, Lindsay Shaw is talked into taking a second spring break in Hawaii for a bit of fun.

Six years ago Rick knew that Lindsay knew how to have fun. They'd had the most amazing night of his life yet she'd taken off the next day without a word. Now she's back and he's determined to make up for lost time.

This is the second book in the Spring Break mini-series after Second Time Lucky. The books are interconnected but easily stand alone.

As soon as I picked up this book I was interested and my interest didn't wane right up to the last page. Having said that, there really isn't any conflict in the story and nothing really stopping the pair from being together.

Both characters were sympathetic although didn't really have any magical spark either individually or as a couple. I understand that Lindsay was a shy type but even I got annoyed with her meek behaviour at times and she didn't really grow as a character in the space of the book. Rick was also an okay character but his "uncharacteristic" outbursts were never really explained and he did seem to be a bit uncommitted. But the most annoying thing was that he, who had known a girl for 8 hours and proceeded to get a tattoo of her name on his arm, was panicking that Lindsay was getting in too fast and too deep. Bizarre!

Overall, this was a fairly enjoyable romance that wasn't spectacular but still passed the time. The writing was good, the descriptions of Hawaii made it come alive and if you've got a couple of hours to spare then it will certainly do the trick.

I liked it but Lindsey is hard to like

Only one man ever caused Lindsey Shaw to shake up her well defined world, six years later on the cusp of starting out on a new venture, Lindsey and her friends head back to Hawaii hoping to rekindle their college spring break trysts once more for old time sake.

Rick Granger has always wondered what happened to the innocent woman he spent one night with, before she ran off without a word. Now he has a chance to get his answers and to see if the chemistry between them is still off the charts. When he sees Lindsey again, he knows his answer and he is not sure one week will be enough to get her out of his system.

The concept was great, I liked Rick and it was easy to visualize the surfer boy in the story. The only drawback was how innocent Lindsey was, at times she was super naive and yet something would happen to counteract that belief and leave me confused about who she really was.

You know...I started reading this book then realized the OTHER book was the first one. It was an okay read. The whole premise of the entire series...hooking up with someone via FaceBook that you slept with during Spring Break some, I'm guessing here, six or so years ago? Give me a break. These are not unattractive, desperate women. I know it needed to happen for this particular couple to come together, but it just seemed way out there even for this Harlequin line.

Maybe it's just me.

Back to the story...cute couple. She had hang-ups and he was trying to be the man he knew he could be and that she needed. Things worked out in the end, but the story seemed choppy and not well thought out. Maybe it's because I listened to it rather than read it. I don't know. Blaze titles really tend to be a love it or hate it with me with very little in between.

I had trouble with the flow. Not alot of time spent developing secondary characters. Sometimes Rick seemed dominaring, cold and others a romantic. I didn't like how week Lindsay was portrayed. Like the first book in the series much more.
