In the '40s and '50s, the bold, breathtaking glamour girls who stepped into the spotlight were a special group, almost magical, and they captured the imagination of men (and the secret admiration of women) like never before. In this book, more than 100 of these women are profiled, including Mamie Van Doren, Betty Brosmer, Jayne Mansfield, and Blaze Starr. Photos, many in color.
What a title and quite some curvy women inside. Starting with sex symbols (e.g. Marilyn Monroe, Jayne Mansfield, Sophia Loren, Anita Ekberg), we see the glamour girls (e.g. June Wilkinson), meet the pin-up queens (e.g. Bettie Page, Diane Webber) and have a look at the strippers (Candy Barr). The author collected some interesting photo material for his books. Decent nudities inside with some good boobs to look at. Highly recommended!
The Book that started it all! Like the internet (and long before it) VaVaVa Voom is one of the main catalysts for the explosive and lucrative pin up and burlesque revival. By collating all the great all natural wholesome beauties and including wonderful interviews, Sullivan kicked off a phenomenon. The book has never been remotely equalled in any form. This book also provides ample (and I mean AMPLE) proof of how the original Glamour Girls of the Pin Up era will ALWAYS be the greatest.
