Okay, a little bit disappointed. Not at the book but at the fact it's a stand alone. The first book, they have an amazing story line. Like so good for the type of book it is. However because it's a stand alone they rush into it, instead of making these 3 main characters tag along in a series of books. The whole relationship with her and her two men were based on a LOT of "lust", however they rush into it and turn it into this huge "i love you" thing when it should of dragged onwards more if the books weren't stand alone. This book was unique but I absolutely hated the rush of everything. The author has great books, don't get me wrong but I firmly believe this book should of been an on going series, she could of created a spin-off series for the other characters coming into light. So I loved this book, just hated how the author didn't make it an on going series with the same characters. Hopefully the other four books in this series are just as good, maybe somewhere the characters from this book will over lap and I can hear about them again.

There was just something about these characters that did not grab me. Overall it was an okay story line, but the characters felt flat. The relationship between all three of them was rushed and based solely on lust and their mental connection. Which I could of got past if they had actually developed a relationship off of that, but you never get any of the bonding before the story ends.

Recomendable.

Original review done for The Romance Reviews.

An erotic ride into a world filled with special powers, suspense, and action, LOST is the first book in what I think will be a marvelous new series by Abby Blake.

Theresa has always been different. Left on the steps of an orphanage as an infant, she's always felt different from everyone else. She doesn't know what's wrong with her but she does her best to hide her differences from everyone else. Her life changes drastically when she has the worst anxiety attack she's ever experience right before she's abducted by someone she senses meant to do her harm.

Caleb and Ethan are federal agents who use their special powers to hunt down terrorists and protect the country without them even knowing. While trying to apprehend a rogue terrorist, they get overwhelming sensation that a woman is in danger. When they finally catch up to her, they can't get over how much they all connect.

As the three of them explore their feelings and their powerful connection, they have to get to the bottom of why Theresa was abducted, who's behind it, and what more lies ahead.

This book was great! It's short, but man, there's a lot packed into that story.

Theresa is such a great character. She's got no idea how powerful she is because she's been isolated her whole life. What she's seen as a weakness her whole life has been amazing powers she just didn't know how to control. Ethan and Caleb are so close they are almost the same person, they are so in tune with their powers it seems fitting that they would be the perfect people to help Theresa figure out her powers.

The plot of a conspiracy to find people with special powers was suspenseful and full of action. The trio doesn't know who to turn to, and we get the sense that we've only skimmed the surface by the end of the book. I felt like I couldn't stop reading because I had to know what happened next.

The eroticism of the book was intense. The sexual chemistry between the trio was enhanced due to the their abilities to sense each other's feeling. That in turn increased the arousal between them and it was extremely sensual.

So, LOST, the first book in the Altered Destinies series, is setting the series off on the right track. With its action-packed and suspenseful plot, well-developed characters, and it's compelling eroticism, it was a definite winner. I can't wait to see what's going to happen next in the series.

Kindle/Mobi version

This was a short book in Abby Blake's 'Altered Destinies' series. This first installment sets up a conspiracy to produce children with empathic, telepathic, and telepathic abilities by harvesting eggs from women with these abilities, fertilizing them with sperm from men that have the abilities, and implanting the eggs into women who come to a reproductive services clinic.

Two agents, best friends Caleb and Ethan, who work for a secret government agency, were on assignment to capture an assassin - a rogue with empathic/telepathic abilities.

Instead, they find their rogue kidnapping Theresa, a computer programmer who has been hearing people's thoughts and having panic attacks because she thinks she is schizophrenic and it's become uncontrollable. The rogue plans to turn her in to the 'bad guys' for a bounty, after having his way with her (of course).

Naturally, it's 'instant' love between Ethan, Caleb, and Theresa (what else?). They also find and free Theresa's mother, the woman who was used in the initial in vitro experiments.

The next book is 'Runner'. This series can be bought at Siren Publishing for a little less than at Amazon. They also have other formats for the various readers.

***This is an erotic romance, with anal sex, just a warning for those who want to avoid that.***

This is the first book that I have read by this author and I have to say I will probably will read others. Although this is a fairly short story and it could have been longer the author did a pretty good job of setting up her world and the main characters. This is a world with psychics and all that goes with people that have those abilities. There is a nice mystery that will probably play out in future books about lost children that were conceived as part of an experiment to make a better human. It sounds like the next book will start the search for those children. This was a fast read and would be great for a day at the beach or while traveling cross country.

I really like how Ms. Blake brings us this new and thrilling series that involves the elements of fantasy, paranormal, as well as a ton of heat. As Theresa, Caleb, and Ethan explore all of her powerful possibilities as well as their sensual sides, we really get to the heart of this tale. Lost is the beginning of the Altered Destinies Series and it is a good way to start the reader off. The ending left me intrigued enough that I want to see where Ms. Blake takes us from here.

I enjoyed this and think the overall rating was a little harsh and I am glad I ignored that and gave this a chance.

An orphan, Theresa hears voices and thinks herself a schizophrenic, until she meets 2 gorgous hunks with their own abilities who proves to her that she's not crazy but has abilities that most other people don't.

Looks like a great series

A very interesting series. The paranormal angle is a little strange at times but not so much that you can't enjoy the books. Super hot steamy action!! Delicious menage action!
