There was nothing wrong with this book or its teachings, it said a lot of good and true and helpful things, but I'm rating it based on my personal enjoyment of it. I'm simply not a non-fiction person, no matter how much I wish to be. But everyone I know has loved this book, so if you like non-fiction, I would recommend it! Don't let my lower rating scare you away.

This was my first book by Chuck Smith, and I look forward to reading more. He does a great job of explaining what grace is, and how everything changes because of it. If you are a new believer, a seasoned believer, or a non believer this book simply, but beautifully explains grace. Grace, one of God’s gifts to us.

Always worth the read

This is a great primer on the subject and a good read for either Christians who don't hear much about grace, or anyone who wants to understand the Biblical perspective on grace. The author backs up what he says with bible references and keeps the message simple throughout.

This is a wonderful book that new Christians should pick up and read and Christians who have been around for many years should read for a refresher course. It's straightforward and honest. Loved it

The Actual Gospel...very rare
I used to get so confused on Salvation and Service. A lot of the confusion comes from mixing Scriptures together that only bring confusion.
An example would be, For the wages of sin is death, but it's the Gift of God, NOT OF WORKS, lest any man should boast. This is Romans 6:23 which is speaking of Salvation, but the you read in James that Faith without works is dead. This is speaking of Service because of what Jesus stated in Matthew 5 Let your Light shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in Heaven. This is also Service.
The Gospel is simple: If something glorifies me in any way shape or form it's no longer Grace but self righteousness. If it glorifies the Lord through Jesus Christ and His Work then it's the true Gospel. Faith in Grace alone. No additions or subtractions.
Highly recommend this book!!

This is a book for both new Christians who want to learn about grace, as well as for any believer who wants an encouraging read. I was especially interested because Chuck Smith was the pastor of Calvary Chapel in Costa Mesa, the first church I attended as a new Christian back when the church didn't have a building, but met in a circus tent in southern California. My only complaint is the scripture verses quote the King James version, which is difficult to understand and off-putting for many. This book was originally published in 1994, and most likely the material was from Chuck's earlier sermons of the 1970's because there are several examples and phrases from that time period. I liked that his personality shines through in his stories, and the book is as timeless as the bible.

Great book
It is a great book. I would recommend this to everyone who has a hard time understanding grace. There are people out there who struggle to understand the character of God. In fact, a lot of people have this misconception of God being angry and distant. If people knew the grace and love that God has for us, his people, then they would stop overworking themselves and stop trying soo hard to work for their “salvation”. If you want to understand God then you need to meditate on his Word and talk to Him.

Chuck reinforces how deeply blessed we are! A must read to get stoked up for all Christ has done for us, we are so wonderfully and richly loved. GRACE is given to us FREELY but it wasn’t FREE. Simple.and Straightforward
One can hear Pastor Chuck's voice through the pages. The message is simple yet significant. His illustrations are helpful and witty. The progression of the books is logical and coherent. Though the book may not come across as a giant scholarly work, it lays out the foundational truth which believers often forget or miss out: it's all about God's grace, not your works.

Good Read on God’s Grace
Tozier does a great job of defending God’s grace as the means of our salvation as opposed to our good works. He presents a good defense against the dangers of legalism as well.

God's Grace is sufficient to save me! This book is right on in sharing the Truth of God's Word! Highly recommend this book for Christians and non-Christians, alike, to read.

Grace So Amazing
This book is well-written and simple to understand. It gives the believer encouragement for their walk with God and explains the difference between a works based and faith based salvation. I look forward to reading more by this author.

Thank God for grace.
We cannot earn grace. It is the gift of God that is freely given. The only thing we must do is by faith trust the finished work of Christ who paid the price for our sin. Amazing grace how sweet the sound.

Changed my life.
It showed me that I should rest in God's grace and His love for me. Now I read God's word differently now.I see more of His love in His word. God is not my problem, He is for me.

I give it 3.5 stars but rounding up to 4. The first half of the book was really hard to get through. Very repetitive. The last half was much better.
