Here is some brief information about myself.

I’m interested in science because it helps us to understand the world. I enjoy finding out about new things and then working out how to write about them in a way that is both clear (and accurate) but which also conveys my own excitement and interest. I particularly like writing books that are fun, and I have been lucky to have had so many chances to do so.

I was born in Yorkshire in England, but grew up in Stranraer, a small town in south-west Scotland. I graduated from Edinburgh University and then came down to London, where I have lived ever since. I enjoy reading novels, watching films, and walking in the countryside.

I am using this book for my Science Area, more specifically when we discuss insects in a couple of weeks.After discussing the definition & identifying different types of insects, I am actually bringing in insects for the children to interact with. The children will also be allowed to go on an insect hunt outside to see what insects they can find. A fun group assessment-game could be having a fly swatter and a laminated sheet with different types of insects and 'on the count of 3,' swatting any given insect & holding it there while the teacher goes around to check quickly.

What's Inside? Insects is a book on insects. The book uses pictures to show what the different parts of the insect is on the outer side and the inside and explains them. The book starts off with a beetle, then goes on to a honeybee, followed by a caterpillar, a fly, a cricket, a ladybug, a butterfly, and a stick insect.

This book was not my normal book to read, but it was interesting to learn some things about insects.

I would put this book in my classroom library.
