“Tensions simmer in 1765 Boston, home to twelve-year-old Lizzie Murray. Residents of the city are dividing over loyalty to England-and the divisions strike within Lizzie's own family, as her brother and father often find themselves at odds. When a mob wounds a young British soldier, Lizzie chooses to help the frightened Redcoat-a move that brings even more trouble to her life. Where is God in the emotional upheaval afflicting the colonies? Can Lizzie overcome the fear that weighs on her soul? Written especially for eight- to twelve-year-old girls, this story teaches important lessons of American history and the Christian faith.”

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Pre Teens- Three Stars New Teens- Three Stars Early High School Teens- Three Stars Older High School Teens- Three Stars My personal Rating- Two Stars First things first, this book isn’t in Lydia’s point of view at all. The cover, title, and back-cover are completely misleading and give the vibe that Lydia is considerate towards her family who have deferring opinions than her. That wasn’t the case at all with her being more of a brat and the book being in Stephen, her little brother’s point of view. Lydia needed to learn that you can be patriotic for your country, but also be polite and understanding to others. We do not see her truly learn this lesson at all in this book and while I liked Stephen, I was pretty disappointed in this book. (Note: While none of these books in this series are connected that I know of, there is a part in this book mentioned that is very similar to the prior book, but I cannot see where these books are connected. Might cause a bit of confusion for those reading the series in order.)
This book should have been titled Lydia the spoilt brat... This book was more about Stephen and his journey about learning about the difference between a patriot and a loyalist at the height of the Boston Massacre. As always learning about history through these books are great but this is the first time the title character did not fit the role... Lydia was no patriot, just said she was one... Disappointed
This was my least favorite of the "Sisters in Time" books--because of the annoying personality of Lydia, who disobeys her parents, taunts her brother, etc!
THIS IS A BOOK ABOUT A GIRL WHO WANTS TO HAVE FREEDOM AND DON'T LIKE KING GEORGE AND HIS TAX ON TEA.SHE WAS ON THE TEAM OF JOINING THE AMERCANS BUT SHE WAS A GIRL.SHE WAS A STRONG PERSON WHO NEVER GAVE UP.I think this book tells you how you can find your way out without voilence. It reminds me of MS.WOODARD and MS.STELLACCI who finds the easy way for us to win without fighting each other.do you wanna know a secert way of winning a battle without violence?
I really enjoyed reading Lydia the Patriot. I thought that it was an interesting story. I would like to read more books by this author.
Lydia the Patriot is about a 12 year old girl named Lydia. This story takes place in the 1700's when America was trying to break free of the british and become a country. Lydia and her brother Steven have different opinions about how America should operate. They occasionaly get into arguments. Everyone should read this book.
I do not like this book it was all about the boy instead of Lydia. If it is called Lydia the Patriot then make it be about Lydia! That was really annoying. But it had a good story line. I just wish she just made a story about the boy.
