Once again Nicki does not dissapoint..

The story continues on with Ellie and Nick still on the run, from whom, what and why is still unbeknown .....Till- Ellie's past returns to take them back to the Time keepers. Why ?? Ellie makes discoveries about Nick and time will only tell as to where their lives will lead them. We are thrown into the world of Timekeepers , werewolves and mystery. A short ten page story filled with everything you could experience in one read. Lust, danger, suspense and intrigue and a sparkle of romance . * Not edward lol **

In ten pages, their is nothing I found was an issue. I completley enjoyed it .

A full on read from beginning to end, chapters flowing smoothly and uphill till the very end. Plot outlined and interesting. I eagerly look forward to more of Nicki's Time keepers series, she certainly knows how to leave you hanging and leaves you suspended in air and eager for more.

Maybe if I jump forward in time I can find out the end :O)

After their chance encounter and narrow escape, Nick and Ellie are on the move again trying to avoid the pursuing Governor and Time Keepers, but this time Nick's secret is out. Will they be able to keep under the radar or is their time up?

Last month I reviewed Nicki J Markus' Running Blind (Time Keepers), which was part 1 of 4 and greatly enjoyed this initial installment of what appeared to be the beginning of a great tale. Now I am pleased to get a chance to give you a brief look into The Beast Within (Time Keepers) part 2 of 4. Last we left them, Nick and Ellie had just managed to get away from their followers and into his apartment only to find that they had been tracked down. In The Beast Within, Ellie uses her time traveling skills to pull them out of harms way, but having not learned how to fully use these skills they are almost immediately pulled back to their proper time. Time traveling, no matter how brief, evidently does not set well with Nick and his....condition, which he has attempted to keep hidden. Ellie learns of Nick secrets and the two begin another attempt to evade the Governor and the Time Keepers.

Nicki J Markus has once again captured my attention and desire to learn more about why the Governor and the Time Keepers are chasing Ellie. And why, in a world such as Nick lives, does he try so hard to keep his secret hidden. The Beast Within was a bit slower than part 1, but that is to be expected when dividing a story into 4 parts. The only real "negative" thing I would have to say is that dividing the story into 4 parts is...annoying, I want to finish the Time Keepers saga, now, not in 2 months. I don't watch television in real time for this reason...I don't like waiting. But, that is just a personal issue, so not really a negative. It does show that the reader (me) is interested in what is going on in the story and is like a child having to wait until after dinner to get dessert.

A futuristic tale set in a world where the existence of vampires, werewolves and witches is accepted, a chance encounter with a girl named Ellie is about to change Nick's seemingly normal life forever.

Ellie is a time-traveller, and she is on the run from the Governor who seeks to harness her abilities for his own political advantage. Nick, too, harbours a dangerous secret, and the moment the two cross paths it doesn't take long for the adventure, intrigue and excitement to begin.

Brilliantly written with fascinating characters, this is, to date, my favourite work by Nicki J. Markus. I just wish it was longer!

I like this little story that keeps the characters in state of running. The author does a great job pulling you in and keeping you interested in what is happening to the characters. Paranormal, a bit of romance, fear and magic gifts all keep you wanting to know more. This is like watching a series on TV not everything is revealed at once, you need to keep tuning in to find out more.
