SUMMARY OF WHY NATIONS THE ORIGINS OF POWER, PROSPERITY, AND POVERTY BY DARON ACEMOGLU AND JAMES A. ROBINSON

THIS IS NOT WRITTEN BY DARON ACEMOGLU AND JAMES A. ROBINSON. IT IS AN INDEPENDENT PUBLICATION BY NATALIE REILLY THAT SUMMARIZES DARON ACEMOGLU AND JAMES A. ROBINSON'S BOOK IN DETAIL.

Daron Acemoglu and James Robinson's research work is already well-known among economic historians, economists, and political scientists for its originality and significance. By writing Why Nations Fail, Acemoglu and Robinson hope to reach an even larger audience with the results of their pioneering work on the historical role of organizational culture – defined as "the rules governing how the economy operates, as well as the incentives that inspire individuals" – and their impact on the development of nations (p .73). As a result, we have a very readable work that spans a vast geographical and temporal spectrum and discusses one of the most serious concerns facing the globe climate change. A broad audience will certainly enjoy this book since it has so many wonderful, old-fashioned historical records – something I did not foresee at the time of writing.
