This is such an amazing book for leaders, but not only! Going through key principles and teachings from Paul, it offers vision and clarity regarding ministry among people.

Sanders’s biography of Paul reads more like a devotional than an analysis of his life and influence as a leader. Chapters and sections have multiple, usually unrelated, points and anecdotes often with little to do with Paul. This doesn’t mean there is nothing of value here. The book speaks with a surprisingly contemporary voice in spite of being more than fifty years old. There are valuable insights; I appreciated the attention to Paul’s early years and the analysis of his views on slavery and the role of women in ministry. Sanders offers a perspective of Paul in light of his context and the totality of his writing that can be appreciated.
