Kekkaishi #27

Kekkaishi, Vol. 27

Rate this book
By night, teenager Yoshimori Sumimura is a "kekkaishi"--a demon-hunter who specializes in creating magical barriers around his prey. By day, Yoshimori's got other demons to battle: an addiction to sweets and a seriously crotchety grandfather! Yoshimori's pretty neighbor and childhood friend, Tokine Yukimura, is also a kekkaishi, but their families are feuding over who is the true practitioner of the art.

A powerful witch attacks the Karasumori Site and threatens the surrounding town of innocent people. Does the Night Troops' sorcery unit have enough power to counter her magic? Then, Yoshimori's older brother Masamori is invited to revamp the Shadow Organization. Is this one of those offers you can't refuse...?

Plus, secrets of the Shadow Organization finally revealed...not to mention the awful truth behind the mysterious attacks on the mystical sites!

I could understand why this big battle happened after reading this volume. This battle was because of the fight between Urakai’s sibling. And many people got involved in this fight. I thought a small different thing could be a big different thing. It’s also could happen in our world.

Kekkaishi, Vol. 27 continues where the previous tankōbon left off and contains the next ten chapters (256–265) of the on-going manga series.

Two witches, Michiru and Kakeru, use their powerful magic to viciously attack the Karasumori Site while holding the entire town hostage. Yoshimori Sumimura and his Night Troops attempt to repel the attack, but their chances seem even more remote when the witches' partners, warriors No. 1 and No. 2, arrive.

Meanwhile, Masamori Sumimura pays a visit to Hisaomi Yumeji, a key member of the Council of Twelve, at his residence. There, Masamori learns of a longstanding feud between Yumeji and his elder brother, Nichinaga Omi, the Shadow Organization's supreme leader. Masamori's meeting with Yumeji ends abruptly when Zero, a hit man sent by Nichinaga, raids Yumeji's home.

This tankōbon is written and illustrated by Yellow Tanabe. This tankōbon continues the attack on the Karasumori Site by two witches with Yoshimori Sumimura and his compatriots having a difficult time subduing them. Again, the far more interesting storyline of the person or persons behind the mystical attacks and a new member of the Council of Twelve has been introduced – Hisaomi Yumeji, the younger brother of Nichinaga Omi, who has sent Zero, an assassin to his house.

All in all, Kekkaishi, Vol. 27 is a wonderful continuation to a series that seems really intriguing and I can't wait to read more.

We get the backstory of the Shadow Organization or at least a lot of info about it and we learn that the two founders have basically been using the others as basically a game between each other fighting a war. We also start seeing more about what the Karasumori actually is and the fight so far is pretty interesting as we learn more about Soji's backstory. It does feel a bit complicated but still pretty cool.

1. Sudah makin jelas konfliknya.
2. Kagemiya mulai mengkhawatirkan Soji.
3. Okuni setidaknya jadi roh. Yeay! Soalnya, scene kematiannya enggak memuaskan.
4. Kekuatan Kakeru yang luar biasa dan ikonis.

Really glad we got to see Okuni again, but goddamn Masamori needs to keep his calm.

Yay, shit is moving again. There's suddenly a Bleach-esque element showing up here, with the talk about manifesting your "Manager" -- I hope Tanabe ends up handling this well, since the whole zanpakutou/hollow-self relationship matrix was one of the things I loved from that fatally flawed series.

今巻はちょっと悲しかった。三号は可哀そう。怪我してもまだ戦える。良守の信用を失くたいから頑張っている。:(
次巻楽しみ。絶対面白くなる。
