Basic precepts on making lifestyle changes to develop overall health and vitality. Preaches the importance of our innate will and life-force (/Cosmic Force) to develop into a more rounded and healthy and glowing individual. The content was good but average. Simple and plain, nothing out of the ordinary. Reading on exercises and food habits seemed boring and bland. However, the chapter on healing through God's grace was interesting and riveting.
This book offers a broad range of tips, guidelines, exercises, and more, to help you live a healthier, more magnetic, more joyful life. It's not one fixed regime that you have to adhere to strictly, but rather a smorgasbord of ideas for you to experiment with. Decide for yourself what's most appropriate for your body and lifestyle, and work with those aspects. As just one example, since reading the book, I've started eating a lot of monomeals (all one food at a meal), which has been working well for me. But if you don't like that idea, there are also lots of guidelines on how to combine different foods in the most healthfully appropriate ways.
The writings in this book are compiled from Paramhansa Yogananda's early writings and lessons, and thus offer the depth and power of ancient yogic teachings, brought into modern America. Having a collection of his advice that I can directly apply to my own life is a blessing that helps me feel more in tune with him throughout the day.
