Reverend Rose Vanden Eynden has been a spiritual student all of her life.
At sixteen, she began reading Tarot cards and became a professional consultant in her early twenties. She holds a Bachelor of Science in education from Wright State University and has been a licensed massage therapist since 1996. Rose started studying mediumship in 1997, and in 2000, she became a certified medium with the Indiana Association of Spiritualists at Camp Chesterfield and an ordained Spiritualist minister with the United Spiritualists of the Christ Light Church in Cincinnati. She has also studied mediumship at Lily Dale, New York with international teachers such as Sharon A. Klingler and Janet Nohavec.
She is a founding member of the U.S.C.L. and serves often at the church. She designed their Mediumship Training Program for seekers wishing to develop their mediumship skills. She is a popular lecturer on a variety of esoteric subjects, including mediumship development, Tarot, Wicca, magick, angels, and energy healing.
Rose makes frequent public appearances, connecting audience members in the "gallery style" of message-bearing popularized on television shows. She has been featured in regional newspapers and television news programs, has published several metaphysical articles in national magazines, and has co-hosted a spiritual radio program.
Rose is the author of both nonfiction and fiction works. Her first novel, MERLYN'S RAVEN, a fantasy romance, is scheduled for release from Soul Mate Publishing on April 17, 2012. She is blessed to have a supportive husband and wonderful twin sons who keep her grounded and focused in life. She is an avid believer in living a balanced life, so she meditates and eats chocolate daily. Rose maintains a private consultation, massage therapy, and teaching practice in Blue Ash, Ohio.

This is a great basic book on beginning mediumship. It begins with terminology, the philosophy of Spiritualism and natural law, and progresses to preparing your mind and body to contact Spirit. What I found especially helpful about this book is the description of spirit guides in part 3. Just knowing what a gatekeeper guide is and what one does helped me to understand a lot about how mediumship works.
Rose covers the tools used in Spirit work, and gives some great exercises for developing and testing your skills. The section on giving readings and sittings is also very practical and took away a lot of the mystery (and trepidation) in performing this work for others. With her help, I believe I can do it!
I recently attended one of Rose's workshop on public mediumship in Lily Dale, and I'm impressed with Rose's knowledge, skill, and professionalism. She's really a terrific teacher. Along with other students, I gave one of my first readings at "Inspiration Stump." I also want to say that I've had many readings, and I consider Rose's to be the best of all of them. You will learn much from her down-to-earth style.
Rose seems to know what she's talking about, but she makes mediumship seem like an easy little hobby to pick up, when in actuality it's a lot harder to accomplish anything in this book than you would think! Hokey but thorough, a quick read anyway. Worth picking up if you are interested in the subject.
This book is a very comprehensive journey on learning the skills of a medium. I enjoyed the ease that I was able to use the meditations. Joy Guide section is my favorite.
Awesome. Just what I wanted and needed. I have already communicated with my Joy guide who is also my gate keeper. I am so looking forward to this new experience and honing my skill.
This book was recommended to me and I really enjoyed it. I love how she gave examples for everything she is trying to teach. From the games to the exercises. It is written in a very straightforward, easy to follow manner. I would definitely recommend this book.
Seems like it could have decent content, but every time I start to get into a topic the author says something that throws me off. I don't click with her, so I have a hard time reading this.
This is a book that I have appreciated as a resource for others the longer that I have owned it. When I first read this book, I was fascinated by its Spiritualist perspective, since I was not entirely familiar with the faith, however I did find my own understanding limited by the confusing terminology and cosmology of the author's belief system. That said, there were some really good practical tips I have not found anywhere else that could be used by anyone who make spirit communication a lifestyle practice.
I did not enjoy this book. I bought it for the chapter on spirit guides to see what the author would say and the entire thing left a bad taste in my mouth. I'm not inclined to follow any of her advice. She is a member of the spiritualist church, which is not very believable at all. She does give the history of the spiritualist church, which I found informative, but that did not lend to her credibility for me.
