Get Over Yourself!: 7 Principles to Get Over Your Past and on with Your Purpose

Rate this book
Life is No Fairy Tale.

Chosen to play the coveted role of "Disney Princess," author Jennifer Beckham knew she would find the acceptance and love she had been searching for all her life waiting there on top of that float, inside the magical carriage. Boy, was she wrong!

God wanted her to address the crippling tendency shared by many women—to get so stuck in the pain, the misery, and the heartaches of life that they never fully move on and into the purposes of God.

In Get Over Yourself, seven practical principles serve as your roadmap to get over your "self-issues" and into a life free from shame, regret, anger, and insecurity. You can get

• The fickle feelings that hinder your faith.• Insecurity and self-doubt that steal your freedom.• Guilt, regret, and shame that plague your life.• The lingering pain of your past that keeps you hurting.• Negative belief systems that influence destructive behavior.• Debilitating thoughts that rule your life and wreck your day.• Your lack of fulfillment and find purpose. It's time to turn your pain into purpose; misery into ministry; and heartache into heartbeat.

I've read this book before, but it's well worth a re-read or two! I've also had the privilege of hearing her speak. If you're fighting with things in your past, or just don't really like yourself in some way, then this book can really help turn that around!

This book made me think. It helped me work through some things I hadn't thought of in a while and other things I had almost worked all the way through before. I'm thankful Jennifer shared her story in this book.

The first half of this book, I was giving 5 stars wholeheartedly. But then it got a bit repetitive and her teachings became incredibly basic. Not in a bad way but just a way that didn't touch me as much.

Presented in a way to reach specifically young ladies who are a bit on the romantical view of life, and are dramatic.
If you are enamored with Disney, you'll no doubt relate.
