It is an excellent resource that provides seemingly every detail regarding how many vessels, planes, and troops participated in each battle and what tactics and strategies were utilized to carry out missions by the various navies, armies, and special forces on both sides of the struggle. The supplementary collection of photographs produces an equally startling impact of how to remember the war. Their stunning documentation helps understand the fear, horror, and savagery that transpired on both land and sea in the Pacific. The photos also attest to the courage and bravery of the men and women who fought and sacrificed their lives and those who survived the ferocity of the conflict.
The Pacific War Day by Day provides a literal day by day detailed account of events in the Pacific war. It was comprehensive in its scope. While this was a good feature in many ways, it also made it challenging for someone with a relatively cursory knowledge of the geography and history of the war.
An easy to read chronology /picture book of the Pacific war with lots of interesting facts and insights. Well worth the time for any history buff or a reader just interested in the Pacific theater of WW2
