Fair, indeed.
It went into less-expected territory as the leads fell in love, including admitting their love and then needing to find their way past a final obstacle. That obstacle represented the bigger sense of who they each were and also mended as well as revealed old hurts from their familial pasts. So it was nicely a part of the story and their future, and not simply a last minute wrench thrown in for a spike of drama.
They were wary of one another and sparred, but for that, this one glided along rather easily. But there's a genuine sweetness--including that yes hugging a giant tree is life-altering--to it that's nice.
Likable leads, changed for the better because of one another, and while this didn't delve deeply, they had good chemistry right from the first spar(k) to becoming more tender and then loving in the end, so it's easy to believe in their coming HEA despite their many differences.
