Solo is a collection of monologues from diverse contemporary works. Includes pieces from Fish Eyes by Anita Majumdar, The Crackwalker by Judith Thompson, Two Rooms by Mansel Robinson, Agokwe by Waawaate Fobister, Tombs of the Vanishing Indian by Marie Clements, Seclusion by Julie Teperman, Who Knew Grannie by Ahdri Zhina Mandiela, and many more.
This was read for school. It was really interesting, especially because it was multi-cultural Canadian plays. However, this isn't something I would read for 'fun'.
There were also some monologues I enjoyed more than others and that skewed my rating.
The book absolutely has opened a new horizon up to me about Canadian playwriting. You can see a collection of really good and short piece as a monolog in the book that is able to motivate you to follow the writers and read whole plays.
