We all turned to see Chloe standing at the top of the stairs with a man right beside her. He had a scraggly beard and was dressed in a suit that looked like he had slept in it for the past several nights. "Agent Smith?" Rudy said. "That's Dr. Anthony," Brandon corrected him with disgust in his voice. "He has a gun," Chloe said quietly.
Following clues left well over a century ago by an ancestor in Kirtland, Ohio, the Andrews family is off on another adventure. With danger, excitement, and a good dose of scriptural intrigue thrown in, The Forgotten Treasure will be a favorite for the whole family!
Carl Blaine Andersen holds bachelor's and master's degrees from Brigham Young University and is a software engineer at Novell. A former member of the Mormon Youth Symphony, he enjoys music and teaches cello. His first published novel was The Book of Mormon Sleuth. He and his wife, Shari Lynn Tillery Andersen, have 6 children and live in Orem, Utah.

The Andrew's family is on vacation, and they stop to look at an ancestor's house. They meet the people who now live in it, and they give the Andrews family a letter that says there is money in the backyard. They are trying to figure it out, when at the treasure house, a tree branch is broken and a hole is dug in the ground. The Andrews have to figure out where the treasure is before others. This book series is a bit repetitive. The Andrews are on vacation, they encounter Anthony, have to get something before him. But it is still action packed and adventurous.
I picked this up at a Goodwill. I was floored to see a piece of Mormon literature in this particular location. So, I bought it for my youngest brother for Christmas (shhh, don't tell...) and decided to read it on the plane ride out. Maybe I should have read the first book in the series and it would have made a little more sense. It did inspire me to get to know my scriptures and Church history a bit better, so that's something :)
I really enjoyed this book! It was a thriller, yet it was funny at the same time. The thing I enjoyed most about this book was that it really related to the gospel in a good way! I think that it really had some good scripture references. Even though I wish I would have read the other three first, it was a good book and made me want to read the rest even more!
More realistic plot. Pacing is nice. It's not so strange they keep going on their vacation as the incidents might be accidents. The adventure is enjoyable.
This time it is teaching about family history, though not really much about how to do it, mostly about why it is important and how nice it is to do.
An easy read and a nice little story, but better for younger audience (ages 10-13). Doesn't even come close to the great "Tennis Shoes" series. The ending of the book was interesting about the Family Tree of Lehi, but that's about all that was real impressive.
In this book the family takes a Church history tour with the goal of finding ancestors. Of course, somebody is trying to steal important documents and a hidden treasure the family is trying to find. I enjoyed this book but got a little bogged down in the descriptions of the historical places.
I'd put this installment up there with 1 and 5 in the series. It seems like it went back to being a little more believable and less far fetched. I really like how this series manages to ingrain parts of the religion and scripture, but do it without seeming forced into the story.
This was a fun young adult book. I enjoyed the Andrews vacation experiences. Even though it is fiction, sometimes finding that elusive ancestors name happens in very bizarre circumstances.
the forgotten treasure is about a family looking for there ancestors and it turns into a chase for a little pouch with stuff in it. i would reccomend this book to others because it is really cool.
