Gone Missing

Rate this book
Jean Ure returns with more warmth and wit in a brilliant book about what happens when two girls decide to run away from home. Fourteen-year-old Jade is fed up with fighting with her mum and step-dad, and her shy sixteen-year-old friend Honey is having a miserable time with her mum, but when Jade decides they should both run away, Honey isn't so sure. It's only when they get to London and things don't work out quite how they expected that Honey shows she has hidden depths, and Jade realises that home is not so bad after all…

I love Jean Ure. I have read almost everything she has ever written and i recommend her to all the kids who are looking to move on from Jacqueline Wilson as i find her much easier to read and the humour is always better as well. Becky Bananas will always be my favourite by her but i really enjoyed this book as it was interesting and was a light easy read. If you like family stories with humour then you will love Jean Ure.

it was AMAZING though anybody who reads it and have the same problem it would be a bad influence since the characters ran away from home but eventually it was great

This book is about 2 teenager girls: Jade and Honey. They are not happy with their family. Jade feels annoyed with her dad - an conservative person. And, Honey's mom is an alcoholic.
So, they escape from the homes to a city.
On their journey, they got in lots of troubles...
Finally, Jade's parents begged Jade and Honey to come back and then they lived happily together:)
It was interesting and a little bit confusing. Some parts made me bored but, however, the story was so good.

My favorite out of all the Jean Ure books I read. It’s basically every adolescent’s fantasy of running away made true.

DNF

I really tried to enjoy this book (especially as I LOVED Jean Ure's "Boys On The Brain") but unfortunately I just could not get into it.

The main character of "Gone Missing" is a 14-year-old girl called Jade. At first I thought her as a bit of a drama queen but thought perhaps her attitude would change later on in the book. I didn't even bother finishing the first chapter as Jade's attitude bothered me so much: I really disliked her popular, loud girl demeanour.
Unfortunately, there was a use of the "R" slur, which made me feel uncomfortable as an Autistic teenage girl. The use of this word wasn't aimed at anyone with additional needs but was still uncalled for. It just made Jade sound bratty and irritating.

This is the first time I've disliked a Jean Ure book and I feel super disappointed! But I won't give up hope and will try to read some of her other books.
