Seit Herbst geht Georgina auf eine neue Schule und hat eine Freundin, Alex. Alles wäre in bester Ordnung, wenn sie nicht diese seltsamen Träume hätte. Dann sieht sie den Druh, den Hund, der Set und ihr einst das Leben rettete, und immer passiert ihm etwas Schreckliches. Ob Set mehr darüber weiß? Alex und Georgina versuchen Kontakt zu ihm aufzunehmen. "Über Länder und Zeiten hinweg", flüstert Alex, "hör unser Rufen ..." Georgina schließt die Augen. Sie erwacht in einem Wald, vor ihr steht Set, traurig und verzweifelt. Zögernd verspricht er ihr, bei der Suche nach dem Druh zu helfen, und sie finden Der Hund wurde in der Unterwelt von Culann, dem Schmied, gefangen. Für seine Rettung müssen sie das Meer überqueren. Doch es gibt nur ein Geisterschiff, das am Ufer auf sie wartet.

Her first novel Der Narr (The Fool) was published in 1990. It received the Hamburg literary award for best first novel and was also broadcast as a radio play.
Her eighth and most recent novel The Greek Empress was released in 2011.
Extensive reading tours through Europe, India, Canada and the United States. Member of the Irish delegation at the Frankfurt Book Fair in 1996 and member of the Swiss delegation in 1998. Swiss writer in residence at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles in 1997. Guest lecturer at the Case Western Reserve University (Cleveland) in 2002. 2005/6: Writer in residence at University College Dublin. 2010 artist in residence at the Böllhaus, Achill Island, Ireland and in the atelier of the UNLÖ (Unabhängiges Literaturhaus Niederösterreich), Krems, Austria
Since 2004 lecturer at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. Since 2010 writing courses at the Literaturhaus Basel and for the Volkshochschule Basel.
