The Ann's War Mystery Series is a series of five novellas set in 1944-5. Each story contains approximately 15,000 words and a complete mystery. The stories are: BETRAYAL, INVASION, BLACKMAIL, ESCAPE and VICTORY. Kindly note that each mystery is resolved within one story, and that Ann's story arc will be resolved over the five books.

About VICTORY
Based on sensational true events, the concluding story in the Ann’s War Mystery Series.

The war is over and Ann’s community is preparing for the VE Day celebrations. However, not everyone is in a celebratory mood. Ann’s husband, Emrys, has returned from France, a shadow of the man who left to serve his country. What happened in France? What thoughts are weighing heavily on Emrys’ mind?

Meanwhile, Doris Michael hires Ann to find her brother, Glyn, a man she hasn’t seen for two years. What has happened to Glyn? And what crucial part did he play in determining the outcome of the war?

As Ann seeks answers, she realises that even though the war is over, the true battle has only just begun, the battle to win the peace.

A fine conclusion to Ann's story. Her husband is back, but horrors of the war plague him. Will she lose him now to his own thoughts now that she's been reunited? Ann discovers that heroes can fail and cause the loss of life, yet still remain heroes. And those you least expect to be a hero can save lives without even knowing it. This book pays tribute to all the heroes of war--those acknowledged and the many unsung heroes.

This five part novella series is brilliantly written. Hannah Howe's main character and the heroine of each story, Ann, is a woman of sensitivity, determination, insight, and great compassion. She is easy to relate to on so many levels. I throughly enjoyed reading a novella that gets to the point of each story without any side tracks. If you are interested in history and the Second World War and it's implications for those who saw combat, you will be thrilled by the five stories, which connect to one another. Highly recommend!

Loved this book

This was especially touching tale on what the men coming back from war went through. And it appears that all had their issues with what they had seen and done. Hopefully it will never happen on this scale again.
