I don't think there was anything too special about this book. Truth be told from the amnesia books I've read prior, it's pretty low on the list but it wasn't horrible.
Alisa trying to save a puppy from getting hit by a car, gets hit herself and loses her memory. With her mother in Europe and having no other family, she had no one to turn to but a man named Dylan. He had been her friend, brother, protector and lover but she didn't remember any of it yet. Nor did she remember the fact she loved him with everything she had and caught him kissing another girl, which in turn broke her heart.
Dylan doesn't want Alisa to remember the bad parts of their relationship. They haven't seen each other in eight years but when he learns she is in the hospital, he rushes to her side. Dylan knows Alisa is the love of his life and he knows he screwed up by letting another girl kiss him. He knows that he broke her heart and changed her life in those single moments.
Yet with Alisa's amnesia, it gives him a second chance, to be with her, love her, cherish her completely. As long as she retains no memory of their past in college, things will turn out. Dylan knows eventually Alisa will remember and when she does, he will lose her again... or will he?
When they were a young couple in college, the guy got irritated that the girl wasn't paying him attention- she HAD TO STUDY FOR SCHOOL- so he cheated on her. Present day, she has amnesia and he doesn't tell her about it right away. I remember my writing teacher telling me that if character reveals something bad about himself early on, then he has gained the reader's trust. So yeah, this whole "cliche 'reveal character twist later' thing" is just not my thing. I guess she just saved the honesty for later in the novel because she didn't have anything else for the climax. Oh well.

She has amnesia from a car accident. The story bogged down with the overabundant foreshadowing hooks of him dreading when she will remember a negative thing he did in the past that will ruin her present image of him.
I am still the process of reading - or reread -my books by Leanne Banks to clear space on my shelves. Will get back at it, but I need a break.
Can you believe there are other books out there with this lame title?
