Born into a real-estate dynasty, Brandt Wainwright chose football over the family business, and now he's a Super Bowl MVP. That streak of good fortune runs out the day Brandt crashes his SUV into a tree. During the long recuperation, the fun-loving quarterback becomes cranky and sullen-until private nurse Ciara Dennison shows up for duty.Ciara has zero interest in sports, or in tall, blond jocks with overblown egos. She's dated a man in the public eye before, and she's not repeating that mistake. Somehow Brandt keeps breaking down all her defenses, seeing through her facade to the sexy free spirit underneath. But once his recovery is complete, will he return to the celebrity life he knew-or choose the woman who can fulfill his dreams?

Usually, this author's books are decent....but, this series was simply BORING....But, in fairness I really think it was the narrator...he was boring...he added no life to the story. This story was about an injured professional football player from a wealthy family, his mother hires a private nurse and they fall in love......
I’m not sure what I was expecting… but wow! 2 stars instead of one for hilarity; the unrealistic plot and character dialogues paired with an unreasonable amount of grammatical errors really upped my enjoyment of this story.
I had debated whether or not I would read this book. In previous books, when dealing with caucasian men, Ms Alers would always "taint" their blood making them bi-racial. I am pleased after finishing Here I Am Brandt maintain his "just off the Mayflower" persona. Yes he curses like a sailor but hey he's a top rated pro football quarterback. What would you expect? I found Brandt and Ciara's story endearing though predictable. Ms Alers went a little soft in this one. If you've read her Best Men series or any of the Cole books, you would have become accustomed to a little intrigue. I've always liked that about her books. It adds something to the rich boy meets rich or not rich girl, they fall in love and get married. What she served up is an A type male who's had his career ended by an accident. I like that she didn't protray him as a womanizing bad boy type. I like that Ciara called the shots from the beginning. Everyone knows every alphamale needs a strong minded woman to keep him in check. I also liked that Ciara didn't go off the deep end blaming Brandt for sins of her former lover. Ms Alers truly acquitted herself because I had low expectations for Brandt's story. Gotta love a family of well to do caucasians who like chocolate in their milk!
The only reason I rated this a four is there were numerous grammatical and typing errors and a felt like Brandt gave up being cantankerous too easily.
This was better than Because Of You. I liked the plot better and I liked Brandt much better. I am a Giants fan also so I liked them featured in the book as Brandt's team. Ciara seemed a bit too formal while everyone else seemed a lot more relaxed. I know she was a professional at work but in the down times, just hanging with friends she seemed stiff. I felt the same about Aziza in the other story. The sex scenes were fantastic. Great job and great imagination. Those scenes saved the story.
I like this series but is it realistic that all the Wainwright brothers end up with sistahs? Maybe one maybe even two but if she has the third brother do the same I will be skeptical. Good thing this is fictional and you can make anything possible.
When I finished reading Brandt and Ciera story, I was saying this can't be the end. Dang there is no epilogue. Awesome story but I wanted more. Oh well have to want on book #3 in the series.
Brandt and Ciara learn the a life well lived is the best revenge when Ciara's ex strikes at her. The attraction between Brandt and Clara is so strong and just grows stronger. Ciara's unwillingness to be in the public eye is a strong force until her feelings for Brandt become stronger than her resistance. Also, Wyatt's reaction to Clara and the tabloid story was a pleasant surprise. I liked this book. Good job.
This one was much better than Because of You...the characters were more ENGAGING w/a bit more romance...Brandt was very protective and GOOD for Ciara...he broke through the wall she built up around her heart...and like some of the other reviewers stated it seemed to end to abruptly...hopefully the next book is even better.
Of the "Wainwrights" I enjoyed this series but, there is not enough books to keep me entertained, makes me sad. Strong women in the two books. Maybe it is twelve years too late however, the author has another winning series. I have read four other series and various single books.
Another awesome story! Brandt and Ciara are too cute and sexy. My only issue is the ending. We have to see the good doctor get his due! I’m counting on a book 3!
Brandt a pro quarterback has been in car accident and both legs are broken, his mother has had enough of his attitude and hires Ciara as a private duty nurse. He falls for her immediately. Ok read story was a bit rished, felt incomplete.
What a powerful story of knowing you are missing something and finding it after an accident!!! What a passionate way to meet the love of your life time
Nice summertime read. Needs a sequel to complete the saga with Victor and whether or not the marriage is all they expected it to be after a quick courtship.
What a bunch the Wainwrights are from Wyatt the grandfather and granduncle. A family who sees family as valuable and their word is stronger. Where protection of someone they care for deeply comes to mean as long as you are with one of theirs your are a Wainwright. Brandt was standing in at party of the wedding party. While standing there he got what we might say as da ja vou. When he left the wedding to go to his get away place in the Carolina's he swerved to miss a deer and head on into a tree. He broke both legs and once released to his personal doctor he was headed back to NYC to recover and rehad. Brandt in a mood his mother was upset with had fired 2 of his nurses and was not eating. She called the agency which they sent Ciara Dennison nurse who didn't take no stuff from difficult patients. Just what Brandt needed, but in more ways then one. She got him to be motivated again and actually made him happy. What neither realized was the patient/nurse relationship was turning into something which was unexpected
Brandt Wainwright is known as the Viking to all his fans and he lives up to his moniker. As the highest paid quarterback in the NFL, Brandt is very on the celebrity list and added to his personal wealth, his family is on New York's list of Who's Who. But something is about to happen to jeopardize Brandt's very way of life. Ciara Dennison is a no nonsense private nurse who doesn't like sports or celebrity and she's not at all impressed by Wainwright money or Brandt's temper. When these two meet, it's an instant attraction that causes them to go far beyond a working relationship. As much as I liked the book, I did feel that Ciara's reason for shying away from the limelight was a bit flimsy. She wasn't my favorite female character though she held her own. I did love Brandt though---he was very funny and sure of himelf. Just as he should have been. And the appearance of Jordan was an added bonus (makes me want to read Because of You all over again). A good read and worth the price.
I am not real sure what was missing but I just could not find this to be realistic. I do love the fact that Ms. Alers found it more correct to make the hero of the story to be of one nationality. I have read many of her books where the white man we see is not really white he has two or more heritages mixed in. As for the story there were just a few points where I found connections with Brandt and Ciara but not enough to rapt me completely in the story. I found it good to hear tidbits of the connecting characters. I did read other stories that are yet to come within this one. That give me something to look forward to.
Mr. Football (Brandt Wainwright) and Nurse No-nonsense (Ciara Dennison) meet under difficult circumstances. For a man with lots of bark he takes notices when she has more bark than he does. His money and fame does not phase the zero tolerant nurse. Life has a way of putting itself into prospective for you when you least expect it.
I absolutely loved this read. Rochelle Alers has done it again. This is the 2nd book of the Wainwright Legacy Series.
Brandt Wainwright is a sexy Superbowl MVP who plans to remain a single man for the rest of his life. When Brandt is injured in a car accident is world is turned upside down. Brandt turns into a mean, cranky man who runs off every nurse/therapist he has. In steps nurse Ciara. Ciara could care less about Brandt’s fortune or fame. This book has everything from pain to pleasure. Once these two realize that there is something between them, the fight for love is on.
This is a great read!! I read this book three times when I first got it. I bought it in Kindle format and a paperback one. I would recommend this read to anyone who will listen. Rochelle Alers has given us another 5 star read and I highly recommend it. Add this book to your library, you will enjoy it immensely.
I'm vacillating between 3-1/2 to 4 stars. The novel is well-written, but I guess I've just read too many romance novels with alpha males who overwhelm their love interests and make it impossible for her to breath let alone decline to fall in love with him. The hero, Brandt, is a wonderful character whose understated charm belies his football hero image. Ciara, the heroine, is likable enough...actutally, she's kind of an iron rose. This story's quality crept up on me and I enjoyed it quite a lot.
have you ever felt like you're reading the about the same character when you read an author's series of books? that's how I felt reading this book. the men and women can be interchanged with others from other series. I remembered why I stopped reading her books. not the highlight of my week.
I totally enjoyed reading Brandt and Ciara's story, it was a great one. I would absolutely recommend reading this book I think you will enjoy it. Great job as usual Rochelle Alers please keep these great stories coming. Thank you.🙏👍❤
