I didn't like this as much because everything went wrong in the beginning.

i honestly thought that the other people should have not crashed the party and another thing is that i do not LIKE them they are really bad troublemakers and after what they did to mallorys friend i was so steaming mad that i skipped a page when they did it. I thought that the friends that crashed the party were taking control and not Mallory and all i have to say is that i H-A-T-E HATE! the people who are also very bad troublemakers.

Mallory's tenth birthday has come and gone without fanfare, because she just can't decide how to celebrate entering the double digits. When Mary Anne suggests a sleepover, Mallory realizes that would be the perfect party idea and presents it to her parents. Her mom and dad surprise her by saying yes, but they insist on certain limitations to keep the party from getting out of hand. Unfortunately, Mary Anne has other plans, and try as she might, Mallory can't stop her and the other girls at the party from running wild and ruining her birthday.
This book will make yet another wonderful edition to the Mallory series. Like the previous book, Mallory's Guide to Boys, Brothers, Dads and Dogs, this one focuses on Mallory's inner emotions and turmoil as she is torn between what she knows is right and what her friends want to do. The lesson that she learns - that following the rules and listening to your parents is more important than impressing your friends - isn't usually an easy one for kids to swallow, but Mallory makes it somehow palatable by living through the situation herself and learning the lesson the hard way. There were some moments where I thought Mallory went a little overboard with her apologies, and I worried that kids would think they, too, needed to grovel to gain their parents' forgiveness. But it is in Mallory's nature to take everything just a step too far, and even her parents assured her that she could bounce back from the mistakes she makes in this story, so I think in the end, her multiple apologies didn't detract too much from the story at all.
I think my favorite thing about this book is the way Friedman describes the emotions Mallory feels as her friends begin breaking the rules and tearing her house apart during the slumber party. I can remember that feeling so well, of watching chaos unfold around oneself and feeling powerless to prevent disaster. Friedman really made me feel and experience Mallory's conflicted emotions as things spiral out of control, and I could empathize with her anger at Mary Anne and her own feelings of guilt. I can't wait to see what other troubles are in store for ten-year-old Mallory - I can only imagine what's ahead for her as she continues to get older!

Mallory’s Super Sleepover by Laura Friedman is the sixteenth book in a series about a young girl, Mallory.
Just recently, Mallory turned ten. She wants to celebrate by having a sleepover. When she gathers up the courage to ask her parents, her parents fuss at her and her brother, Max, for not doing there chores. Mallory decides to get her best friend, Mary Ann, to help her plan how she should ask her parents. She finally asks her parents and to her luck, they say yes.
Mallory is so happy and quickly makes plans with Mary Ann to meet up and plan the sleepover. Mallory’s parents told her that the sleepover would have to be a small one, but Mary Ann thinks otherwise. Mallory’s too excited to say anything. They plan to have a cupcake decorating contest, water balloon fight, and tell scary stories.
Finally the big day arrives and nothing goes to plan. Everything is getting out of hand. No one is really listening to Mallory when she tells them she thinks that they need to stop doing certain things. Will Mallory’s sleepover be the best or worst sleepover ever?
I adored this book. I definitely found myself smiling at Mallory. She learns that she needs to take responsibility and speak up when she knows something is wrong. This is a great, entertaining book for kids and has an underlying message about doing the right thing even though it goes against what other kids are doing. I enjoyed the illustrations that are in the book and thought it added

Another cute book about Mallory McDonald for beginning readers. Following the standard formula (this is book number 16 in the series), Mallory has a great idea, runs into some problems, & learns a lesson in a fashion that most kids will completely relate to. For her 10th birthday, Mallory & best friend Mary Ann decide to have a "Super Slumber Party" - lots of friends & lots of fun activities. Her parents agree with the understanding that she will keep things under control - but things quickly get out of hand. In the end, Mallory learns what's really important.

This book was great because it talks about having a fun sleepover. But when Mallory's sleepover plans get out of hand she has few messes to clean up. Mallory's best friend isn't acting like one during the sleepover chaos. So Mallory has to figure things out on her own. I think others will enjoy this book because it's funny and also pretty cool. If you like books about sleepovers, then this is the story for you hope you enjoy it!!!!!!!

This is the first Mallory McDonald book I've read.Definitely a relatable character; she reminds me of my daughter. I liked the moral of the story and how she came up with the full resolution to her problems on her own. Great book for elementary school readers! (this will be #16 in the series; now I'm gonna check out #1.)

This book takes me back to being a kid and making mistakes. The way the author approaches Mallory's inner thoughts and feelings is very realistic.
