I personally felt like it was helpful in my life. It didn't seem as outdated as I expected it to be because of the year it was published.

Lots of good pragmatic advice. It's geared towards parents of preteens and teens but it's good advice to remember going forward. I will implement some advice, like allowing your daughter to keep her room like she wants it rather than nagging all the time to pick everything up... It's hard but there is value in allowing them individuality.

I really loved this book. It gives situations that happen every day and how to best deal with them with pre-teen/teenage girls. Sometimes I just need some help putting the words in my mouth of what to say to my kids, and this is one I'll keep handy as a refresher guide.

I bought this at the American Girl store. I thought this may prepare me for what will be coming in the next few years as I raise girls.
