Nine months ago, Ken Turner and his lover, FBI agent Turner "Turn" Scott, handed in enough evidence to bring federal charges against KT's stepfather, but Father escaped to Mexico. When Mexicans kidnap Turn, KT desperately smuggles himself across the country to seek help from a man out of Turn's past. A man whose photo Turn still cherishes. A man who, KT finds, has crossed the border and now contends with KT's stepfather and other drug lords for leadership of their cartel.

To survive, the drug lords must know which parts of their networks have been compromised. Turner Scott has that information. One of the drug lords has Turn. Another has KT. The third knows KT might be Turner Scott's only weakness.

But Turn himself doesn't know whether his hunger for justice is stronger than his taboo love for KT.

What an emotional roller-coaster this story was! It certainly was a great sequel to One Good Turn. It's action packed, sexually charged and difficult to read at times.

It underlined KT's strength, because if the average person survived what he did, they would either be in the padded room for good or another sociopathic addition to the Turner family. KT's struggles left him with a set of skills aimed at survival, this time both his and Turn's. Turn, we've learned in this story, is a bit of an idealist, which is not surprising, considering his career choice. That idealism didn't work well in his relationship with Race though and, considering his experiences, I'm not sure how good it will work in his relationship with KT. There is still a lot we don't know about Turn, which is one of the reasons I hope for another Turner & Turner story. I admit it, I had to work through my emotions about what he did to KT along with KT, in order to forgive him. I liked how KT dealt with his emotions, although that entire part of the story was heartbreaking to read.

Surprisingly, Race wasn't the most interesting secondary character, at least not for me. It was difficult to read him and, especially, understand what attracted Turn (and to a point KT, although survival had a lot to do with it) to him in the first place. Of course, we get the glimpse only into Race's present personality and through KT's, hardly objective, eyes. The title of the most interesting secondary character, in my opinion, goes to Turn's neighbor, Mr.Elstrom - he was colorful and funny, a perfect fit for KT's 'partner in crime'.

The pacing of the story was perfect all the way to the abrupt ending, which is becoming sort of Amber Green's trademark. I love her writing - I don't think there are many writers who write the emotions as raw and real as she does. The story will be easier for the readers who had difficulty with the first story, but, once again, they will not get all the answers. KT and Turn still have a lot to deal with, individually and together, before they can settle in a solid relationship. This story seems to be the first step in that direction. I wholeheartedly hope there will be more. Highly, highly recommended.

I like this series. A lot. (As should be clear by the 4 stars.) But I'm not sure I get something.

If Turner cares so much for KT, why did he never come back for KT, even knowing how much of an evil, abusive monster KT's father is, until the FBI wanted him to investigate the father? It seemed like he basically ran off, found someone else to love, promised to love this someone else forever, forgot all about KT in the process, and then only came back because he had to for his job. Then he hooks up with KT because his lover's away on a drawn-out undercover mission.

This book is pretty disturbing. It was a rollercoaster ride and I couldn't put it down. However, I felt like this poor character was tortured needlessly his whole life. It was disturbing to me how much pain he went through... for seemingly no reason. I was also a bit put off by a rape scene in the book. It really left me feeling some kind of a way about it. I'm still trying to digest it...

I'm definitely invested in the character, but I don't know that I would have read it if I had known what this character was going to go through.

I don|t even know, where to begin. The whole story was totally far-fetched, no coherence whatsoever!j
Yes, I know this is fiction and not real life, but I need at least a believable storyline. This wasn't the case with this book.

The first book in this series was definitely intriguing enough to have me quickly going online to find book #2 which I immediately devoured and to say the least the ending was not what I had expected and it left me with my heart still slightly shattered and wishing like crazy that there was a book #3. I adore J.T. and will be watching this author in the hopes that he and Turn come bac soon, really soon would be awesome!

At the end writer "Amber Green" wrote - I hope you enjoyed book two of Turner & Turner. My replay to that is "Hell No, I did not enjoy that book" - to much of forcing sexs and idiotic plot is less and less enjoyable to read. Plot is really horrible.

Raw and intense. I like that there is no overly explaining. The story and KT's (internal) struggles let me discover what is going on and why he is so damaged.
