I liked this book. I was supprised by how much. I thought the story was perfect for the length, enough room to give important details of the story. Good pace. I would rate the book 3.5 stars if half stars were an option.
I liked both the main characters. Althea was a fighter. I really enjoyed the fact that no job was below her even though she was raised in affluentely. She did not seem to have a plan, just a constant running from Reggie. I thought she was too smart for that. I thought the author did a great job showing why she was not trusting and how difficult it is to trust even when she knew she could.
Nate also had a problems trusting, but it was not as severe as Althea. He is just getting over a broken heart. I liked how he eventally thaws and then burns for her.
Some issues I had with the book was lack of a copy editor. There were grammtical and typos through out the text. I really expected better from the Harlequin Press. I was also confused with Althea's last name. She was supposed to be using her mother's maiden name of Dayton while running from Reggie, but on page 117, Althea's father last name is Charles Dayton. On page 118, her mother's name is Dayton. And on the back of the book, Althea's last name is Hudson. I was confused a lot in Chapter 11. On page 91 Nate leans on a column between the kitchen and living room and on page on 92 he's leaning on a wall. Did I miss him moving? On page 103, he is able to get her bra off without removing her shirt. How?
I like that Althea challenges Nate even though her staying on the ranch is precarious. In chapater 3, she tells hiim that she is willing to leave even though she has been paid. In chapter 7, after Nate kisses her and attempts to warn her, she throws it back in face that she did not make him the way he is and she won't be his punching bag.
I found the funniest scene in the book is on page 179 when Miss Lilly asks her what is wrong with her? The author sets up what could be a tender scene and she yells at her. Too funny. I liked the line on page 210, "dark brown cream of her skin." I also liked how the author inserted the fact that Dr. Crandall struggled in Wyoming being a black veterinarian. The author handled foreshadowing well, especially dealing with Althea's LBD.
I was a little put out by Althea thinking that Nate was going to let her go in chapter 20. Really? He just drove through a storm to find her.
The Rolling Hills Corportation is introduced.

Good book
At first I was skeptical of this book, as I'm familiar with the author outside of Harlequin. Ms. Terry's sex scenes are usually super hot. But this book was a nice change of pace. It had a good story plot. It had intriguing characters, the side characters were colorful and well rounded. The book had a great mystery and a captivating premise.
I'm excited to read more from this author. The side characters introduced have me intrigued for the rest of the Wilde series.

A capturing "damsel in distress finds her hero romance story". I enjoy a good build up and story line. I have read this book twice and I enjoyed it both times. The story line seduced my imagination with every word I read and left me hungry for more. I am now making my way through the rest of the series and I am not disappointed! #iluvcowboys

This book was a good example of its type - cowboy romance, written in 2011. I enjoyed the Western setting, and the ranch “family” of characters. The suspense sublime plot kept things interesting.

Now this one I did enjoy out of the three books in this series. It starts out with Althea running from and hiding from someone and that someone is watching her from a window in a run down apartment. She gets a "feeling" that something is wrong and starts running again. She ends up on a ranch working and meets Nathan, the African-American of the three Wilde brothers. He avoids her until he cannot get over those lips and her other features (that's a better word than what I had in my mind!! lol). He also feels that she is hiding something. How come people know when you are hiding something, when you know it and they know it so what of it!!
He is another man who was hurt by some woman who did not want to live on a "dirty, stinky ranch" and left him hanging. Poor baby!! "Whenever he was around, Althea's neck would tingle, a slow heart invading her entire body, something she'd come to understand signaled that he was near. Unable to look away, her heart would thud slowly against her rib cage as she stared across the distance a him, watching as his muscles bunched beneath his work shirt. . . . . it was like some invisible thread connected them together. . . and that tingling awareness would sweep over her, and her body would respond on cue" See, I told yah, watch out, you might get attached to one of these boys!!
The someone is stalking for her and does finally comes out of the woodworkd. That's when the book gets a bit interesting, especially when Nathan and his brothers kick but, now that's romance!

This book had me scratching my head asking "where's the attraction?" I would like to believe women have more than just an eye for muscles and tight clothing or huge male packages when it comes to the criteria for getting involved. What ever happened to "dating and getting to know one another?" Nate is arrogant and grabs what he wants when he wants. And walks away faster than he changes his socks. The yo-yo ride Althea went through with him, especially after she ran from an abusive man, made me wonder if she had a death wish. Or was just dumb because she went from one bad situation smack into another. Nate and Althea never had an indepth conversation before he took the liberty of kissing her. In fact, he told his brothers to get rid of her not too long before he went for that first tongue wrestle. He didn't want a relationship yet at every turn was staking a claim on Althea. At times it was annoying that she would fall apart so easily when he got close or wanted sex. These are not hormonal teens. Overall, there seemed nothing endearing about Nate or his attitude after being burned once. I know guys who were burned more than that and not only were they still optimistic about finding love again but actively searched to find it. Guess cowboys are a closer link to neanderthals with respect to handling relationships.

This was a great read for me. Althea and Nate's story was wonderfully written, I also love romance novels that involves the family. There are 3 Wilde brothers Nate, Holt and Shilah I believe if I’m not mistaken one is black, white and Native American. This story is about Nate, Nate was this sexy, mouth watering and juicy cowboy who was still dealing with issues when it comes to the opposite sex and not trusting women after he got he's heart broken. Althea was a lovable woman in this story; she had a lot of baggage to deal with and is on the run for 2 years from Reggie. This story to me kept me excited as well as took me on a journey into the world of The Wilde brothers. Now as good as I found this book to be, the first time they had sex it was deep (no pun intended), sexy and sensual ( it was a DANG moment) after the great sex the book took off to full speed.
Again good read and I can't wait for the other brothers and I want to read them like yesterday. I've known about this author but actually had the pleasure of reading her work for the first time, so this was a good start to a beautiful relationship.

This one had a riveting premise in the first chapter, but it just got too alpha male for me after that. A woman is being stalked by an ex-lover and is on the run, afraid of him finding her. So when she starts working on an out-of-the-way farm and then is cornered by one of the owners, a huge guy who looms and advances toward her, she picks up the can of mace she keeps for protection... and then spends five paragraphs thinking about how hot he is and what she wants to do with him. Um, sorry, you need to tell me if you are going to replace your character with someone else mid-scene. Such a shame that it got so cliched because the opening scenes were vivid and tense. I was hoping for a more intelligent reading experience.

3.75 Stars..... As with all Kimani Romances they are always over way too quickly. The story itself was good and had major potential for more. I felt like the whole situation with Reggie should have been WAY More Drama then it actually ended up being. But besides that I liked this one.

This is the 2nd book I read by Kimberly Kaye Terry. This book's storyline was really good. The beginning of the story was creepy. I thought Althea was really strong & brave for what she went through. I really liked Nat's character. I really liked the ending. This book was much better than Twas The Season. This was a good start to the series, can't wait to read the 2nd book to this series.

Well, I've read better novels by this author. It was cumbersome and slow in parts and way too fast and glosses over descriptions in other areas of the book. I can't recommend it at all.

The hero fine. The heroine grows into her strength and sees it was there all the time. Overall a good read, minus the missing info and things left hanging out there.
