This children's folktale book tells a lesson as well as a folktale of how the birds of the rainforrest got their colors. It tells of how the selfless hummingbird had all of the colors of the rainbow while the selfish birds only got some colors. Although the lesson is not emphasized and the story is mainly about the colors rather than the morals. It is written for younger children with many pictures and larger letters with few sentances on each page. I liked the colors but the story seemed to be incomplete and rushed through to the end. The main point of the story was not very interesting and there was not much detail. However a younger child would enjoy this because it is so simple and the book encourages imagination.
