A hell raising Messiah is gathering the Blackfoot, Cheyenne and Sioux into an army to wipe out the white men on the plains of the West. The only man standing between him and certain slaughter is Preacher and his mountain man friends. Preacher must confront and unmask the madman to prevent a massacre.

It's good to know that Preacher is still indestructible. This is a story about mountain men Preacher and friends, Three Sleeps and Antoine. Preacher signs on with the army to assist in establishing a fort in Indian country and along the way they pick up some wagons of stranded immigrants. Meanwhile, there are white men stirring up the Indians and corrupt people in the military to take care of also. All ends well. These are the stories of which entertaining movies have been made.

Another great book on The Preacher. The Preacher is always finding trouble because of his caring nature. This part of the series finds him helping a Dragoon of soldiers to start a fort in the Northwest. But first they must make it past the Blackfeet lead by a messiah. Of course Preacher always finds love along the way.

Not the best book, but even a campy western is still better than most other tales.
Plenty of good killin', and a good side story too.

Preacher takes a job for the Army and things go downhill from there.
Three white evil men trick an Indian into believing that the white man's bullets can not hurt him and this leads or comes close to the Indian war they are hoping for, also that they can get rich. So much action in this one and the three evil ones do get metal but it won't be the color they hoped for. The Blackfoot Messiah learns that he has been lied to a second too late.

As always, I loved this installment of The First Mountain Man! The author gives great in-depth descriptions without making it boring. I can picture the Mountain Man and the other characters. These books are just all around entertaining and never a dull moment! On to the next book in the series. And that is another wonderful thing... I feel like there are so many books in the series and the other character spin offs that I won't run out of reading material anytime soon.

It's always interesting to read about surviving anything challenging and I liked the suspense and the characters. The historical time frame was also of interest but I found the situations "Preacher" was constantly able to get out of just too unreal. Yes he might have survived some of them, but I can't believe all. It has to be a bit more believable for me.

Preacher is one of my favorite characters and this is a great “quick” read. I love the way he he is multi faceted, depending on how individuals treat him....right down to dealing with young children. He is, in my opinion, exactly the way a “man” is suppose to be.

This was great reading. It really was several books with twists and turns right to the last sentence. Preacher is like 4 men in one .

Great book
I have always enjoyed reading the books about Preacher the mountain man, and this book is just as exciting, and full of adventure as all books staring Preacher, I will read this book again in the future.

The second story of two in Frontier Destiny. The 1st was 40 guns West which I enjoyed. This Blackfoot Messiah is pulp fiction shoot 'em up Western. 3 stars grudgingly.
