"The whole is greater than the sum of its parts." Mom in the Making by Kit Wilkinson is a perfect example of what Aristotle meant. A medical romance and inspirational fan, I picked up Wilkinson’s first Love Inspired when I learned the hero was a flight surgeon with PTSD. As I started reading the story of Justin Winters and Becky Kirkpatrick, the pregnant widow who was married to Justin’s estranged friend, I realized this book was more than a simple mix of two genres. A hero to make the reader sigh, a strong but vulnerable heroine, a family feud, a dash of suspense, finely crafted secondary characters, Wilkinson’s warm style and excellent pace combine to create a truly enjoyable lesson in forgiveness and moving forward. I hope the author, who has written Love Inspired Suspense, will continue to write more for the Love Inspired line.
Becky Kirkpatrick just lost her husband to leukemia. He asked her to move in with his mother until the baby was born. She meets his former best friend as she moves back into town. Will the past haunt them or help them? Again this one just gets good, and then ends too quickly.
