"High Performance Long Distance Running" is a book for long-distance runners (5,000 metres to the Marathon) and their coaches. The book is practically based on sound principles, which have been tried and tested repeatedly. Progression, planning, preparation and peaking are all important parts of the complete performance.
This book is not geared towards me. It is geared towards coaches and elite athletes. However, it did have useful information on how to structure training plans and to utilize training intensity levels effectively. It also provided detailed plans for conditioning to improve power, endurance, and mobility. Overall an informative (but dry) read.
