BORN TWICE is a powerful tale of a young woman's separation from her family in Czechoslovakia and being subjected to the degradations of three Nazi concentration camps. Her facility with languages allowed her to save the life of a friend, who -- in turn -- saved Helen Kuban's life! This is a remarkable, inspiring story of a woman whose family and life survived by a thread, whose challenges did not end once liberated from concentration camps, and whose extraordinary strength, spirit, and determination to survive have allowed for a flourishing family of today.
This is a powerful and emotional autobiography about a Holocaust survivor, who is separated by her family and survives the atrocities of the Nazi concentration camps. It is Helen's determination, her will to survive and humanism that helped her escape her reality. I've read this in 2010, and just recently remembered to add to my GR list.
On a personal note, I met the author Mrs Helen Kuban - as she was a patient of mine. At the time she was 92 years old, and full of life and incredible stories! She gifted me her personal book, and I read it and cherished it with a full heart. She's an inspiration of goodness, bravery and the human spirit!
