A Sheltering Love

Rate this book
Who was the handsome stranger who'd saved her life—twice?

That was what Claire Wilcox wanted to know, especially after she'd impulsively invited the man to stay at her shelter for runaways. She sensed there was more to handyman Nick Andrews than met the eye—there was a great loss this loner was trying to run from. Claire knew what running was all about. A former runaway herself, she'd established a haven for troubled teens. As Nick earned his keep repairing damage to the shelter, he grew closer to Claire, to the kids she cared for...and to the God he'd shut out of his heart. Could Claire's faith begin to fill the spiritual void in his life and give him a new reason to love?

A Sheltering Love by Terri Reed -- Love Inspired Story
Found this book interesting and very good...I thought the story line was close to what goes on with some of the kids that run away...am afraid there is more harm out there now for these run aways than what was originally out there when the book was written.
This was a wonderful story filled with trust, love, and forgiveness. Though in real life all hard cases don't end like these did, it was still a good story to read. It gives us hope in what could happen. We need to learn to leave things in God's hands. We need to allow people to help us, and not build walls around our hearts. Though they both seemed different on the surface, both Clare and Nick had so much in common! I loved the way Nick had to come to terms with his past. Sometimes we have to go away to see the truth...

This was just a wonderful, heart-wrenching story that leaves you feeling good all over by the end!

I fricking love this vintage masterpiece! It's an adorable pocket-size novel that I was excited to try and read so I immediately borrowed it from my school library.

The only sad fact is that I wouldn't be able to keep this beautifully written book on my bookshelf at home and had to return it back.

Even though there's a lot of writing about Christianity, which isn't my majority religion, the book was amazing and fascinating over all! :)

5 full stars!

Little Nick on the cover was very cute BTW.

i always pick up this book when i need to relax or simply want to find myself, I've had my tattered copy since i was 12 years old when i first read this and now I'm 21 and it still makes me laugh, cry, feel giddy and want to just push Clare to Nick every single time because this is just that book that makes you feel... not just something you read out of amusement but you really learn something from it... you take with you that sense of peace after you've read it... and honestly, i wouldn't consider myself religious because i hate being labelled, but I believe in God with a fierce heart... and this book... it keeps my faith firm... and it tells me a lot about life... I've read a lot of books, good ones... but this has a special place in my side table and heart.. its that book I cant seem to place in the shelf with everything else because I absolutely love it... I'm also quite happy but at the same time disappointed that not much people know about this book... happy because I get to lose myself in a world that no one else really knows of... unhappy because its a really good book and i feel it could really touch someone's life..
