Diesel Danger is a man who is described as having a ‘god complex’ by those close to him. He’s used to getting what he wants from women, when and how he wants it, with no pushback— until he runs into Greysen McCree.
Them Danger dominant boys were not ready for the country citrus grove chicks. Greysen met Diesel in one of her lowest moments. She was fresh off of a confrontation with her ex husband that was marrying her cousin. On top of that her own momma and Grandma wanted her to be accepting of the bs. Listen nothing pissed me off more than the trashy azz maternal representation she had...and her spineless daddy knows he should have done better. After the tragic experience life was hard for Grey for years. Diesel however wasn't put off by the mess she was, and thought he would have a good time breaking her to build her back up.
Diesel had no idea that sweet Grey from the country was about to break him all the way down. Grey immediately showed she would not cave to his every whim. She had expectations of him and even as he went hot and cold she chipped away at the wall he had built up. Diesel had never had a woman challenge him the way Grey did in his whole 37 years of life. He had no idea what to do with all these feelings he had for her. At a point though he stopped running from them and leaned into the love they shared. Grey's young self put it on him and I was here for it. He introduced her to the dom/sub life and she fully embraced it and loved it just as much as he did.
The evolution of Grey was beautiful. She went from the sad, depressed, insecure woman that let her mother and grandmother walk all over her. To the confident, strong, secure woman that refused to entertain anyone that didn't mean her well. We loved to see it. I loved how she made Diesel step his game up too. He was ready and willing to do what was necessary to keep her.
Let me close with everybody needs a friend like Elle. She was such a good friend, a real rider that was there through the highs and lows and she was funny as hell.
With all of their challenges it was great to see Diesel and Greysen HEA expanding their beautiful family.
Sn: The editing could have been better. There were some unfinished sentences, some misspelling. It could have been more polished. I enjoyed the story nonetheless.
Ok…so this nasty ass couple kind of redeemed themselves with me….their love was evident from almost the beginning…but, damn they were nasty AF…..I love that Greyson sort of grew a backbone…she didn’t possess as much strength as I thought she would…but, she did grow….I love how Diesel softened up…because he was extremely rigid in the beginning of story. Greyson & Diesel were really good for each other…they were able to exchange their strengths to help each other. I’m wondering if we will get another Danger family story? I love the narration with Winston & Trei it was great.
It took me a minute to read this book because I knew before page 1 that I wouldn’t want it to end and now I’m sooooo sad!!!! This book was GOOD AF!!!! I meann!!!!!!!!!!! Endiya why did you do this to me?!? Huh?!? Answer me NOW!!! 🤣😩😭🤧. I LOVED “Tempted by Danger” so I knew this highly anticipated read was going to be worth the hype. IT WAS WORTH THE HYPE!!! Mr. Diesel Danger was a Dom like a mf. I thought his brother Dymon was something but I knew Diesel wasn’t going to be nothing nice. It was interesting to see how he got into the lifestyle. I can’t say I’m surprised because we knew how his father was coming in the first book. I agree with Dymon, something must’ve been in the water of Citrus Grove because these women gave these Danger men a run for their money…..A RUN!! I loved Greyson so much. Despite the ultimate betrayal and loss she experienced she was able to rise and go after everything she deserved. I loved this book so much! I’ve yet to read a book by Endiya that I didn’t enjoy! Whew chile this was the one not the two!!
UPDATE: This book was even better on audio! Trei Taylor and Winston James did that!!
Original review below!
I didn’t know I would be as captivated with Diesel as I was Tempted by Dymon but here we are! lol this story was a close proximity and relationship of convenience trope. Diesel was the Dom of all dom’s and even has me questioning if that life is something I want for myself! Diesel met his match when he met Greysen, she wasn’t going for any of Diesel’s meanness and let him know. I think these two needed each other because their past traumas and learning to heal and want more from life. They each gave each other renewed energy. Endyia know she can write a sex scene because whew! Also the story flowed really well and it keeps me here waiting on the next story because Endyia is creeping up on my favorites list! This is a 4.5/5 star read because I immediately wanted to reread it once I was finished. Definitely a WellReadRuby recommendation! Will say that there is child loss in this book and to take caution if that is a trigger for you.
Chile! Now I was in no way prepared for Dymon and I definitely wasn’t prepared for everything that Diesel was bringing to the table. That damn Greysen is a fool! she definitely didn’t know how hilarious she was because baby she was putting Big Daddy through it straight out the gate Day one and I loved that for her. I loved the friendship between Elle and Grey. This book was everything. Love, Laughter and Super sexy Spice but I know yall know… Endiya you could do no wrong in writing this and I thank you
I’ve read this ebook at least twice and just listened to the audio. I still absolutely love this book and Diesel Danger!! I can’t wait to see what family member is next. I’m thinking maybe the parents.
This was just smut and i am not mad at it lol. The only thing is...that was it basically. Personally, I did not like Diesel. He was just annoying and his father deserved the worst fr. EVERYONE NEEDS THERAPY. All that money and not one brain cell is crazyyyyyyyyyyy.
I read the first book in this series and I liked it. I thought this was an author whose work I might like, so I got this when it saw it. It’s creepy and the creepiness jumps out right from the first chapter.
“Danger and I come from a rich bloodline, and I will never forget it. Don’t trust these sluts” Why is a grown man and his son referring to girls as sluts? What was the author thinking? It gets even more insane when you realize what happened in this chapter.
“Thought I was going to have to put an APB out on you,” my dad greeted me. “Bullshit back at my place. Halfway here and had to turn around. Chick didn’t want to leave.” He shook his head, grinning. “Which position you think did it?” “When I ate her pussy against the window.” “Taught you well.” This is a conversation between a grown man and his father. Now I don’t know how you lot converse with your parents but this is too much information and just weird. I’ve never read a book where parents were heavily invested in how their sons are having sex. This is a ménage à trois except the dad isn’t physically in the room, but everything the son does when it comes to sex is to please his father and get his approval.
There is no justification when grown people call girls sluts etc. It is truly disgusting and I honestly don’t know why this author thought it was a good idea. I don’t know if this book gets better but I certainly didn’t wait around to find out. A mess.
8/13/24-I was not sure in the beginning. Grey and Diesel surprised me and it was a pleasant surprise. I must admit, the Danger brothers have turned me out!
1/30/25- During My first read, my reservation with this book was Greyson seemed too fragile and childish to truly consent to be a sub. In my opinion, true submission requires a strength and a clear headedness that I just didn’t think Grey had and I questioned if Diesel’s dominance was predatory in this instance. My most recent reread helped me to see Grey as less weak and more lost. Sometimes, people just need the time, space and a new circumstance to find themselves. I can also see now that Diesel is just as lost and sometimes two lost souls finding each other does generate healing and romantic magic. This is an age gape and grumpy sunshine romance. Both the FMC and MMC can be funny and frustrating. But baybee, they get in some quality hunching! Greyson’s family definitely wins the families who should all GTH prize. Everybody can catch these hands! They’ll never make me hate Diesel! I’m folding every time for the caretaker, protector MMC that’s oozing BDE. I’m definitely Captivated by Danger and would recommend others jump on this train.
Diesel came such a long way cause that man was so stubborn and yet he’s the one who feel the hardest 😩 I absolutely love his character development, it was done so well!
I love how Greysen didn’t change who she was to appease Diesel. She just got on my nerves with allowing her mother and grandmother to treat her like crap 🙄 She’s such a strong character despite what she went through with her EX and her family so I’m glad she got the last laugh in the end 👏🏾
From the beginning I was captivated by Diesel’s mysterious and dominant demeanor so I knew I would read his story. His confidence and assertiveness made me want to learn more about the him and the woman who would tear down the walls he built. Thee Greysen McCree is a breath of fresh air. She’s been through so much but continues to persevere. On one of the lowest nights of her life, she meets Diesel, who thinks he’s found the perfect candidate to control but the tables turn, and he isn’t sure how to handle it. First, I feel the BDSM is more structured in this book. It’s obvious the author did her research by the way it was handled. The scenes aren’t wild but the couple has great chemistry and there are some nasty times. I liked that diesel made sure that sex wasn’t the focus. He provided for Greyson mentally, financially, and physically. I wish more emotionally but he did give the opportunity to accept or deny the conditions lol. The innocence of Greyson navigating the lifestyle and the internal struggle she faces when she realizes her favorite kinks are entertaining. I like how she speaks her mind and gradually finds the voice to stand up for herself. I enjoyed the backstory flashbacks the author provided. I saw how the bond was created between Diesel and his father and the event that traumatized Greyson. There are some interesting family dynamics in this book concerning the Dangers. It’s a total 180 from the previous book and it’s shocking seeing them getting along. I can’t say the same for Grayson and her family. Two Words- Hot Mess. With that being said, I feel content warnings should’ve been listed. I was 20 pages in and got hit with two major triggers. From 30-60% of the book, I felt I was stuck on dialogue and scenes that truly didn’t move the story forward. Yes, they were in different locations, but it ended with the couple doing the same thing and having the same outcome. I felt the story didn’t start moving until the first photoshoot in the park. That’s when the relationship changed but I feel it wasn’t explored on page. We were told about the dates, the outings, trying new foods, the day he woke up angry when she wasn’t there, but we didn’t get to see it. This is a 494 page book, why was it left out? I need to SEE the details. Her being an influencer, those meetings, I missed out. Also,I wanted better resolution between Greyson and her family. I mean a conversation with her finally standing up to her mother and grandmother would’ve been ideal. I feel Greyson deserved to speak her mind and to get some closure since her confidence and self- love developed. Also, the epilogue left much to be desired for the page length. Overall, i did enjoy getting to know more about diesel and catching up with the Danger family . I wished the author would’ve used some of the pages to flesh out certain scenes and provide closure. I’m interested to see if there will be another story and who will it feature. CW: depression, death of an infant, gaslighting.
This is one of my favorites, hands down. I just love Diesel and how he redeems himself as a character and grows into loving Greysen OUT LOUD. My fave by this author, and I am so looking forward to the third installment she keeps teasing us with! My guess is Denim will be the focus?? 🫣💙
I couldn't even finish this book. It should've come with an author's note or warning. I should've taken the hint when the first 2 chapters pissed me off but I still wanted to give it a chance. I stopped around the part where he was spanking her ass with a paddle in the backseat of a SUV while calling her a slut🙄🤦🏽♀️. A warning or note about BDSM would've been nice! Then the family drama... toxic much? It really was the arrogance of Diesel that made me say fuck this book. His personality was wack as hell with his breeding kink and new sex toy every 6 weeks. I mean really, who the hell wants to get involved in that? Clearly Greyson did🙄. It's a romance so they eventually fall in love and live happily ever after but I don't want to read all the bullshit he puts her through to get to that moment. I'll pass ✌️
And another one. Diesel met his match when he ran into Greyson. She was not like the other women he was use to. They found something in each other that they didn’t know they needed. And why was Greyson’s family so damn trifling. They got on my last nerve!! Even though Diesel is his father’s son but he knew what was more important to him. This book was so good. Loved it so much!! With everything Greyson went through, I’m glad she got everything she deserved. And the spice, whew chile!🌶️🥵
I love you. I’m in love with you. I want to be with you all the time. You’ve been my first and last thought every day. I want to protect you, take care of you, submit to you, and give you everything that your heart desires. I want to support you in everything you want to do. I want to see your smile every day because not only does it light up a room, but it also puts me in a better mood. I want to hear your jokes, no matter how silly, every day.
Audio 3/20/23 This book was HOT! That's all I can say. Sir was really a special case. Daddy Danger needs a come to Jesus because he was out of control. I did not think I would enjoy the way Greysen was so beaten down, but the more I learned of her previous relationship and the way her family treated her, it made sense. She definitely used her backbone when dealing with Diesel and I loved to see it. Winston and Tre were absolutely amazing in their delivery of this story. Definitely recommend!
I thought I loved Dymon & Quinci in book one but Diesel & Greysen really did it for me!!! Greysen went through so much! From the loss of a child to being betrayed by a close family member & she still remained a such a sweet & loving person!!
Diesel was a hard nut to crack 😭 he was straight by the book literally that man played no games!! I wasn’t too sure Greysen would make it with him at first!! Slowly but surely he started falling for her & I loved every minute of it!!!
The chemistry between these two was crazyyyyy!!! I thought Greysen was innocent in the beginning compared to Diesel but they literally matched each other’s energy 1000%!! The spice was definitely giving in this book!!
I loved watching Diesel go from thinking he would only have Greysen around for 6 weeks to literally falling in love with her! He was so caught off guard by it he didn’t know what to do with himself 😂! I was blown away when he finally confessed his love & true feelings for her 🥹!! There was so much character development between the two of them! We really got to see them both grow & evolve into better people!!
This is a really good series!! This second book is just as good if not better than the first!! I can’t wait to get into book 3!!
Diesel was a deviant, honey! Some of these toys and things that they did… Chile, I was clutching my pearls the whole time 😅
This audiobook I really enjoyed, but it was so infuriating listening to the relationship between Grayson and her mother and grandmother. I think that’s the only part that I was a little disappointed in… Not seeing them come to a better resolution. I really wanted her cousin Paris to get what was coming for her! She deserves so much worse in life lol
Reading this book, while very erotic and spicy, solidified that I'm just not into a Dom/Sub story. Even with that, I enjoyed the more romantic or love story aspects to it.
As interested as I was with Diesel in his brother Dymons' story, after reading this I can say that I didn't care for him too much. While a mystery at first, once his true nature and ways surfaced, it was a hard pass for me. I'm always going to want everyone to have their HEA and find true love, so I'm glad this ended well bc for a minute there, I wasn't so sure🤨.
I really liked Greyson. Her ex husband, Kyle and cousin, Perris, were some low down dirty people. Then, not only did her grandmother condone their mess, she seemed to get off on seeing Greyson be miserable. Greysons mom was no better. I'm glad her dad finally put his foot down and his bond with her has strengthened, yet it's sad that her mom can't see the wrong she's done or is doing. Just a mess 🤦🏾♀️.
I loved Greysons best friend Elle. I also liked that Quinci became a part of her closest buddies and was ready to go to war for her.
While this was filled with drama, it wasn't too much.
Again, while this wasn't my usual taste in books and given that it was long, I just knew I wouldn't get through it, yet it flowed really well and the author did a great job of keeping my interest.
Daddy Diesel Danger is my kinda NASTYYYYYY! 😜 Grey got on my nerves a little. She talk too damn much 😂 but she gave my man a run for his money! Seeing the character development evolve through this book was so good! I’m so glad Greysan was able to set some boundaries and stand up for herself and that Diesel let his guard down to be able to let my girl in!
Last book I read by Ms Carter I thought maybe she could use an editor— she definitely needs a proofreader bc this entire thing is rife with misused words, unclosed quotations and missing periods— but no, the real issue is she can’t write. She commits the rookie mistake of telling and not showing. Her sentence construction is beyond juvenile. There is no flow in the writing; it’s very stilted and makes me wonder if she reads anything outside of her own work. This was not even the first draft, it was the first sketch before the rough draft.
Now terrible writing aside, she irked me from the prologue. Why the fuck is this man’s father grooming his child to be an ain’t shit man? Why the fuck is this “father” fucking his side chick in front of his child? Diesel is an egotistical misogynistic asshole who preys on vulnerable women. Grey was not compelling as a character and was often downright pathetic.
I didn’t make it far enough to see their happy ending and the writing doesn’t move me to do so either. This will def be my second and last attempt at reading an Endiya Carter original.
I expected more from this book. I like Diesel better in Tempted by Danger. Diesel was structure and calculated man, who knew what he wanted and he was upfront. Diesel had a binder with set expectations. Greysen was exhausting to me. She would always bring up her weight, call herself fat but would not make any changed. She would let her mom and grandma talk to her crazy. Greysen is a woman that had to accept that her ex-husband was getting married to her cousin their daughter's birthday. Even though, Grey went thru a lot but she could not bounce back.
Diesel told Greysen that he would build her up but what he did not expect was to let his guard down and actually love someone.
The BDSM was tame and calculated but had some good moments. Greysen should have been able to express herself to her mom and grandma but that did not happen. There was a lot of skipping around in the book 2
The beginning was questionable bc I really didn’t know if I was going to like Diesel but damn did he change my mind😅🥵 they had me smiling and giggling in the airport like how embarrassing 😂 But anyways I’m obsessed with Greyson she’s my new girl crush she really knows how to put a grown man in his place and she’s a curvy queen like pls🥰!! This book hella spicy, and had soo many good kinks in it and I devoured this! I really hope we get more books from Endiya on the Danger family!🤍
Any man that send me a packet on how to have sex with him and be in a friends with benefits situation I would legit run for the hills but this not real life so 🤷🏾♀️ what you say to do daddy 😂
There was so much restoration taking place. Renewed strength & real love showing up! When the elders learning from the young folk, you know it’s real. Learning your worth, being cherished, but most importantly experiencing self love & confidence, are the greatest gifts. Seeing the Danger men with generations of arrogance & lack of respect for women final become vulnerable, kind, loving, family oriented was so beautiful. Dymon & Diesel will never be the same. Citrus Grove has more than lemons & oranges. It’s got a harvest of the sweetest juices flowing making the Danger family addicted! I hope to get more from this family soon. I even like Declan a lil bit in this book. Ready for the Danger women’s story.
I really liked this book better than the first I’m not gonna lie I thought Greyson was alittle weak but the dinner scene when they’re negotiating things on the manual was my favorite. I loved the build of Diesel and Greyson relationship also watching Greysons growth and have confidence while seeing a different relationship within the Danger family was interesting because I didn’t like them book 1. The BDMS was pretty mild. Ms. Greyson is not as bad as Mr. Dymon
"Diesel, I realized after my disaster of marriage and this disaster of a contract that I like kind men. I don't like mean men like you." - Grey. SHE ATE THAT ONE THING!
I went into this book thinking there was no way I’d like it more than the first—and I was right. Although, this book was more filthy than Tempted I liked, I like their story better.
From the very first page, I was hooked. Diesel’s God complex? That man was too much. But Grey? She was the one to bring him down a notch, and I loved watching it happen. She was such a sweetheart, and like Elle, I just wanted nothing but the best for her.
Grey and Diesel’s relationship had a completely different vibe from Quinci and Dymon’s. If you’re a fan of the grumpy/sunshine trope, Diesel delivered all the grump, while Grey slowly chipped away at his defenses. Their growth—both individually and together—was one of my favorite parts. They constantly pushed each other beyond their comfort zones in ways they never expected. I also appreciated how the book explored Diesel’s complicated relationship with his parents, which explained a lot about his mindset when it came to women. On the other hand, Grey came into the story at one of her lowest points, yet she still managed to shake up Diesel’s carefully built world. Watching her find her confidence and finally stand up for herself was so satisfying.
Now, Diesel? He definitely had me frustrated. That nonchalant attitude? Stressful! I was so glad Grey didn’t let him steamroll her—because one thing about it, we are not here for emotionally unavailable men. He really had to lose her to realize what he had, but once he finally let his guard down, it was worth the wait. And in the end, Grey got everything she deserved—her babies, her ring, and the love and support of the people who truly had her back.
Ok so the D/s dynamic should definitely not be used a reference, a guide, or even a suggestion. But the rest of this was every bit as good as I’ve been hearing. While there are some heavy topics in this book they aren’t overwhelming to the story which I think is awesome cause this could have easily been something different. I really enjoyed the writing style and the pace. The dirty talk and the freaky stuff in this book was A-1. I read books that are supposed to be erotica that was as spicy as this!! I definitely want more and will be check out more from this new to me author.
