Prime Shifter Academy #2

Primal Shattering

Rate this book
One girl. Three Mates. And an entire world to save…

The battle at Prime Academy might be over, but the war is far from won. And if being the savior of Otherworld doesn’t kill me, my next semester of coursework might. Not to mention the Council that wants me as their pawn, their phoenix.

But something else is after me. Something as looming as the government and as insidious as the Shade Clan. Something that calls me from the woods and sinks its teeth into my heart.

I thought being the chosen one might make me feel less hunted… but it only makes me a bigger trophy.

Couldn’t finish it

Honestly the fact her mates lie to her and hide things from her and then she just forgives them really really really annoyed me. I would have kicked Talon out and severed the mating bond. I hate people that bully and push their own agendas without discussion because they fmc needs “protecting”. I didn’t finish this because one of the males was an ass and she was pathetic in how she didn’t deal with it.

not worth it….

I sincerely tried to read the second book. Thinking after the way the first ended that this one would finally be worth the time to sit and read and escape “normal life” during the summer break. Nope. It’s worse if at all possible. Chapters dedicated to describing a chandelier and staircase and one paragraph of dialogue. The entire book could be a single chapter of relevant parts. You’ll get hit with an “adultish” chapter of “physical activity” then right back to a heroine in her twenties who’s maturity level rivals a kindergartner. The hero’s in the book are as mind numbing and weak as a boiled spaghetti noodle.. A shame reality. Great concept. Horrible delivery. Waste of time to even download.

Good Plot

I loved the plot of the story. It had a deep and dark history that was slowly forming into their present reality. The beginning really upset me, does no one actually help these others these days? It drove me batty learning the pov I was reading was to scared to stand up for the one who saved them. He was only one man, and to have an entire world dependant on only him, made me feel for the guy. No one thought to work with him, and that’s what was starting to happen presently with the fmc and her guys. I had a suspicion from the first book, this guy was one of her mates. I can understand the fmc not understanding until she was confronted with the truth. I did find there was several pages of to much detail written in, that I skipped several pages and was able to get the part where the main characters started to converse. I didn’t miss much. The fmc in the first book was severely lacking in the confidence department, she had more in this book but she did tend to fall back into letting ppl walk all over her for the sake of keeping the peace. I didn’t connect with the fmc much but I kept reading because the story was interesting. The plot kept me intrigued. I felt the fmc never stuck up for herself. When her mate made a major decision without her input and was going to wait to the last second to tell her he was leaving, she was shocked. She was hurt by it, but she never felt betrayed. I felt it was a betrayal even if he had a good reason for making the decision. It’s a big step and affected them all. So I feel the fmc is a pushover which is why I didn’t connect with her very much. I hope I’m the next book, she feels more confident to speak her mind. She’s the Phoenix everyone’s been waiting for.

Enjoying the Ride!

I am definitely enjoying the ride! I like that the author isn't killing us with cliffhangers that want to make you throw your Kindle at the wall😁, but giving us the teasers that makes you want to come back for more. On that note, I can't wait to see what happens next.

Excellent series!

I was in a reading slump and this series was recommended to me. So I figured, why not? Am I glad that I did!!! I’m excited to read about their journey and growth. I really hope they decide to do an audiobook too!

Primal Shattering, the second book of A Prime Shifter Academy series, is an ebook I borrowed through Kindle Unlimited (KU). This installment of the series is as far as I plan to go. Too much angst, nothing like reading the first book. Good storyline, I simply want to go to something lighter.

Starts really slow, but….

I felt like this one started really slow. Bogged down with over emotional- BUT the endings made it worth it. The story is coming together and kept me on my toes- excited for the next one!

An enjoyable romp

I do enjoy a paranormal romance with a good plot! Not too much smut but a lot of action, emotion, and story.

Really great development between characters and intrigue into the people they have to be wary of. Great writing again! Very interesting story development.
