I was worried when Asuka was introduced. He was obviously thrown into the story just to create drama, but I ended up liking him. He's funny and gives voice to a lot of my exact feelings concerning Shin and Minato's relationship.

Shin continues to be intensely determined to make Minato his, while Minato hilariously tries to convince himself that he doesn't have feelings for him. This series is adorable, I just wish each volume was a little longer. 4.5 stars

I love it I love it I love it I love it I love it I LOVE IT.

Oh my GOD this volume was even better. The art really popped off. The facial expressions were just so animated it's amazing. Asuka was also such a perfect addition to the story. He's such a brat and I'm just waiting for him to get his side story moment.

I'm so obsessed with this series. I've already purchased the Japanese physical copies. I need to hold them in my hands. I hope these get English physicals some day. They're so great. I want to scream.

Actual rating: 3.5/5 stars.

I don't love how pushy Shin is and how he kind of barrels over Minato's boundaries, but I get it, since due to the set up of the whole story, there wouldn't be much progress otherwise. Still, it's fun and cute to read!

While I continue to adore the dynamic between the leads, this volume frustrated me a bit. I don't like when characters are introduced just to create unnecessary conflict for the main couple. This volume focused a lot on a side character, who is more of instigator than anything, and while his antics are occasionally funny, they're not what is keeping me invested. What is, however, is the way the leads find joy in each other, and the somewhat obsessive devotion Akira has for Minato. I'm hopeful for more sweet moments to come.

3.5 I liked this one a bit more than the first one, I’m enjoying it so far. Asuka is a fun character and I think he adds some normality to the story. The first volume we mostly see Shin and Minato interacting, so it was nice to have another character added in to the mix.

I don't really like the romance in this series, but I would like to find out what happens next. It's an annoying difficulty that led to me not cancelling the preorder for this volume. And of course, even more annoyingly, my library system doesn't really stock much manga.

The third star is mostly for the other characters; I really enjoyed the introduction of Shin's classmate, Asuka, who's also the grandson of one of Minato's regular customers, the fishmonger lady in the market. I don't know if he's going to get more of a story of his own, or if he's just meant to hang around and irritate Shin. I don't think he's actually interested in Shin - he's doing a ton of hitting on girls and seems pretty straight - but who knows.

I'm also very intrigued by the cliffhanger introduction of Minato's old crush, as Shin and Asuka's temporary teacher. I know this is all just going to turn into Minato resolving his old feelings and progressing in his relationship with Shin instead, which...I guess sort of answers my question about whether I should keep going with this series. Because I am just not invested in that relationship at all. They have zero chemistry.

Shin continues to be way too aggressive - something Asuka even tells him to chill about if he wants Minato to actually like him. But Minato does seem to enjoy it, which kinda never really makes sense. What does he like about Shin, other than his handsome face and the attention? They have nothing in common.

The panty thief storyline was also so dumb and dramatic. Is this a thing that actually happens?

Plus the art still doesn't work at all for me. Minato's supposed to be in his 30s but looks 19/20 at best, and sometimes even younger than Shin. It just throws the whole thing off visually. It's interesting that the editorial feedback for the drama CD kept being about Minato sounding too young; that's how I feel about his character design and most of how he acts throughout this series. Why make him 30 at all if he's not going to act like it? He could've just been a fresh out of college guy who's figuring out his future. None of this story is really thought out all that well. It's a sort of messy combination of tropes that don't really work if you don't plot out a coherent path forward.

I think I've talked myself out of keeping my preorders for more of the series. I'll see if I can pick up subsequent volumes from the library at some point, just to see what happens with Asuka and the old swim teacher.

I feel like this volume was really fast paced, yet when I finished it, I found myself asking "what happened?" In the "I instantly forgot everything I just read" kind of way. I don't think this means the volume was bad, it just wasn't very memorable overall, despite the introduction of a new character (Asuka, who seems to be added just to stir up drama but who I actually really like; his design and quips are fun), the continuation of Minato's old feelings for his teacher, and a panty-thief subplot that ends in Minato almost admitting that he is starting to have feelings for Shintarou. That was... a lot of things crammed into one volume, and yet -- poof. Instantly drew a blank once I had finished it.

But putting that aside, I feel like this volume was a steady continuation of the first one. Part of me wants to say I liked it more simply due to the fact it didn't constantly have Minato establishing boundaries just for Shintarou to ignore them, but the other part of me almost liked the first volume more because I feel like it set up more character arcs and backstories that haven't paid off yet, making volume one simply more interesting, while volume two almost feels like a filler volume to get us to volume three. Again, it's not bad, and I enjoyed reading it, but it just feels... not empty, but like part of a whole -- like the series really needs to be read in one go, and not broken into smaller chunks.

I will be picking up the third volume, because I am interested enough in the character set ups to see where things end up, even if this volume was a bit meh to me. As I noted in my review of volume one, I am still not 100% convinced that Shintarou and Minato should end up together, but I do think the correct pieces that would allow for that to be a satisfactory ending are starting to fall into place.

Me agrada.

¡A esperar nomás! 😬

Finally, a January read that exceeded expectations! ( ˶ˆᗜˆ˵ ) Not that I wasn't hoping for a cute, fun sequel with this, but oh my gods, it was so funny and cute and sweet and the ART! I feel like I'm going to be on a loop with this, but the ART is SO GORGEOUS (ง ͠ಥ_ಥ)ง I am in AWE at how beautiful it is, I keep pausing on every page just to admire it, ughhhh so so sooo good, I loved this story, it's SO funny how aggressive Shin is ALL THE TIME, and the art's so perfect. I know I already said that, but it's worth repeating ( ˘͈ ᵕ ˘͈♡) I cannot wait for the other installments, and I think this book might be the beginning of my brand new manga collection ( ˶ˆ꒳ˆ˵ )

Yet another cute instalment as handsome high-schooler Shin tries to convince thirty-year old laundromat owner Shin about his deep and unrequited love for the latter. Throw in Shin’s mischievous schoolmate Asuka’s (who I thought would be a troublemaker) penchant for stirring things up, and poor flustered Minato is finding it harder and harder to be a responsible adult.

But then along comes an important figure from Minato’s past who might just rattle things in a way beyond Shin’s control and determination.

Beautiful art. Hoped that in vol 2 something more will happen between the protagonists...but it was nice, however, to see some "heart-fluttering" scenes between them here and there ^.^ I like the change of pace after adding Asuka and bringing back the teacher. The plot is a bit more lively now and I am looking forward to volume 3.

This volume felt like it jumped around more than the other. I like our main two characters, but the new ones that were introduced were justtt slightly overbearing and too much for one volume. I’m looking forward to the next one, especially with the cliff hanger

Jealous men irl? ❌ ❌❌

In manga? ✅ ✅✅

Enjoyed this one more than the first. All the flirty innuendo and shameless flirting from Shin was so cute. Katsuki’s “disguise” at the game was laughable

Curious to see where this one goes!
