Adrian Rigelsford was born in Cambridgeshire. He is a writer and long-time fan of Doctor Who and has conducted interviews for periodicals including Radio Times, Film Review, Fantasy Zone and Movies and Doctor Who Magazine. He wrote the script for The Dark Dimension, an unproduced story intended to commemorate the thirtieth anniversary of Doctor Who. It would have starred all the surviving Doctors.
I like loved the TV series. This book has background on the main characters along with plenty of photos. I was impressed with many of the actors' credentials.
I thought I knew everything and found out I missed a lot. To tell the truth, when I ordered the book I was not expecting much. I figured it was just a book thrown together to help raise money for PBS stations, and I was completely wrong. The pictures alone are priceless and the behind the scenes info is great. It features a list of the Cast's carrer highlights (very informative & complete) so you can see what other films, TV series and theater projects the cast was involved in. A trivia section had me scratching my head and the season by season episode guide (with ratings) is indispensable for fans. As I said before the pictures are great and the overall look of the book is incredible. Worth every cent a must buy for AYBS fans. The Q&A with Jeremy Loyd gives insight on how characters were originally developed and then taken over by the actors. Want to know what department store AYBS is modeled after? It is in this book and a picture of it is included. As I said before I was overjoyed with the content and look of this book. Great stuff.
I was a huge fan of Are You Being Served (still like it), and just had to have this book. There's a lot to like: the pictures, the back stories. Just wish it had been double-checked better, for there were some errors, especially in the episode listings.
