A fascinating complilation of stories of persons, both before and after the wall. John lived in East and West Berlin, both before and after the wall came down. He really shows how many people thought and felt about the wall. In the US, we assume it was all good that it came down. But not everyone was so thankful. I was really interested to read how women were treated equally since the 4o's there, long before anything here like that. One of the persons interviewed was a woman judge. I imagine there weren't too many of those here in the 50's. His account also tells us how the woman judge changed her views, all the things she lived through, what she felt and thought. A truly fascinating account.
