The title is slightly misleading. This book is part biography and part the story of Spurgeon's Pastor's College. Even with this, little attention is given to what happened or even how it happened. Instead, we get a lot of quotes about what Spurgeon believed about what was happening or even more Earl's thoughts on why Spurgeon did what he did the way he did.

The book might be of interest for those who love Spurgeon and are looking for a source of quotes you might not find other places without wading through the decades of sermons you can find everywhere online. Outside of that... it holds little value.
