I bought this book for the artwork. It's absolutely gorgeous watercolor work. The layout with a seasonal wreath surrounding each poem and then a full page illustration is just lovely. The details of all the many creatures and plants is stunning. If you're a watercolor and nature fan I highly recommend this volume. The poetry accompanying the illustrations could be better in my opinion and its content really isn't my thing, but some did strike me as quite nice and I enjoyed the journey through each month's season. I don't know how much this book would appeal to kids outside of those who are very nature inclined and would enjoy hunting through each scene to count all the animals, but it's a nice addition to your collection and could be a fun to read a page as each month begins.
