Trisha is tired of tame, tired of predictable. After years of playing the supporting role, she longs for one night of unrestrained sensuality, a night of passion to reawaken the woman she once was. Can she step out of her comfort zone and into the arms of a stranger for a single taste of erotic abandon?
Lynne Roberts wrote her first story out of frustration at the age of 11 because, darn it, Gone with the Wind just couldn’t end with Rhett and Scarlett not together.
She honestly believes in love, which makes her a hopeless romantic, and she’s definitely a sucker for happily ever after.
She’s been writing professionally since 2005 and is now published by The Wilder Rose Press.
An admitted coffee-addict, when she’s not writing, editing or reading—which isn’t often—you can find her in the garden or with one of her five children.
Hooking Up by Lynne Roberts * I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*
Hooking Up is a short story about a woman looking for a connection, whether it’s sexual or emotional. Trisha has been out of the dating scene for a long time and she is nervous as she’s sitting there in the bar.
She is looking for something that has been missing in her life for awhile and she is on a quest to find it. Will one night of mind blowing sex be the key to finding herself again?
Trisha seems lost and out of place in the bar. She’s uncomfortable when she first gets there but she starts to settle in and relax. She’s there are a reason and she is determined to stick it out. She has something to prove to herself.
I loved her interaction with the college frat boy. It was great; she cut him down with a smile. But Glenn is another story. He is sexy and a gentleman on top of it. They are hot together and the scene in the bathroom was scorching up the pages. I loved the twist at the end.
Overall I enjoyed this short story and give Hooking Up 4 Flaming Hearts.
