I had little hope that a six-year-old would really want read a book about sailing. But she did. More than once.

The style reminds me of Holling C. Holling (Tree on the Trail, Paddle-to-the-Sea). The plot is straightforward, the prose is warm and gentle, the main characters are upstanding, the illustrations are meticulous--and occasionally full of handwritten notes.

Very nicely done.
