Confessions of a Hustla's Daughter

Rate this book
Daddy’s girl isn’t a little girl anymore. Juleena always knew she wanted to go away to college; she just didn’t know it would be New York. That was until she met and fell in love with her boyfriend, Mooski, a few summers ago. Juleena knew she wanted to be close to him, so she applied to every college possible in the tristate area just so she could be close to him. Ju’s plan was to always attend NYU, so when she got accepted into Fordham university, she felt herself straying from her life’s path that she planned for herself. Juleena thought moving to New York would make she and Mooski closer. Instead, the two of them couldn’t be further apart. With Juleena being in college and having a newfound freedom, she ends up meeting the star football player at her school, Shaheed Hall. Juleena has always had eyes for Mooski. He’s her first love and the one she wants to spend her life with. The thought of Shaheed is something she can’t seem to shake, and his feelings are mutual. How will Juleena manage college, an older boyfriend and being miles away from her father?
Sidney thought she had died and gone to heaven when Meech moved her in with him. Norma, her mother, had always taught her to use what she had to get whatever she wanted. Sidney thought she finally got what she wanted – Meech. The things that used to make her happy as a seventeen-year-old just doesn’t do it anymore. What was once glitter and gold quickly turns into shit and flies. While Meech just tosses material things at her, she craves his time and energy. For her 20th birthday, Meech sends Sidney to Miami with her girls. While he's trying to get Sidney out of his sight for a few days, Sidney ends up in the sights of another man – Big Reem

Love is Costing Everybody

My momma would have gotten a WHOLE ASH WHIPPING!!!...There would be all kinds of furniture moving in the house!!!... Norma moved like EVERYONE owed her something and even used her daughters foe that purpose too!!!...I truly hope Sidney does not make a u-turn back to Mercy because he doesn't love her at all!!!...Juju, oh poor Juju, I don't know what she's going to so knowing her and her brother are sharing the same man!!!...I can not wait til book 2 comes out!!!...

And these are their confessions…

My girl Ju Ju is transitioning into a college woman and with that comes the demand of maturity on all levels.

This book is like the old stencil on car rear view mirrors, “Objects in the mirror are closer than where they appear.”

I loved each and every page of this tale!

Rating 4.5⭐️ Pull up a chair AND a drink because this one!!! This one got layers of mess stacked like a skyscraper. Confessions Of A Hustla’s Daughter is straight chaos, betrayal and ain’t no way this just happened energy from beginning to end.

Let me start here. I KNEW IT. I didn't want it to be true but all sign were pointing to it. Mooski had me side eyeing from jump but finding out he was tangled up with RJ too that sent me. I wanted to throw my phone too Ju. Now I’m sitting here trying to figure out how in the WORLD he was dealing with siblings. How Ju and RJ never connected the dots. The math was NOT mathing but the drama Oh it was loud. All this being secretive about your partner ain't it. What's his nickname, real name, mama name hell you need it all!!

Juleena baby, college hit you fast. One minute you chasing a love that felt solid, next minute you caught up in something new with Shaheed. Honestly that pull felt real but the situation...messy boots.

Meanwhile Sidney over there thinking she secured the dream with Meech just to realize money and gifts don’t fill emotional gaps. That storyline right there extremely sad because she really thought she had it figured out. That man is for the streets community pass around. The momma tho 🫢

Big Reem and Shaheed they decent, I’ll give them that. Let’s be real both of them stepped into situations where people were already tied to someone else. So it’s hard to fully root for anything without side eyeing the timing.

This whole book is drama on top of drama relationships overlapping, secrets creeping, betrayal lurking in every corner. Somehow it just keeps pulling you deeper into the mess. No clean love. No easy choices. Just vibes, bad decisions and consequences waiting in the wings. I ate it UP.

I finished the Confessions Of A Hustla's Housekeeper series and month or so ago, not knowing that there was a spinoff series that focused on the older adult kids and their cousin. Juleena and RJ are all grown up now, and she is navigating college life while trying to maintain her relationship. RJ opted out of college, and he decided to go the entrepreneurial route, while he's still establishing his sexual identity. They are both in strained relationships where they are keeping secrets from each other and their significant other, Juleena changed all of her plans just so she could be near her boyfriend Mooski in New York, but with all of the chaos and infidelity on both of their parts, she's wondering was it even worth it. Her and RJ's sibling bond is pretty much nonexistent, so she confides mostly in her big cousin who's having relationship problems of her own. Juleena eventually starts giving in to another college student that perfect for her on paper, but she's still conflicted due to her toxic boyfriend. This book has 3 major plot twists, and one of them I did not see coming!!! This is shaping up to be a great and messy series already.

I literally was just thinking about how little we heard from RJ in this book and now I know why. That lil twist at the end has me gone and sooo ready to read the next book. Everything that’s done in the dark will come to light and boy the spotlights just went off for both Sid and Juleena! Honestly if they didn’t find out about their respective boyfriends with such evidence, I’m not sure they would’ve moved on. Lucky for both of them, they have people to fall back on. I bet we’ll hear more from RJ next book🤣I just hope his relationship with Juleena isn’t tarnished. As promised, Norma disgusted me and I hope Sid can get her sister out from under her before she ruins her as well. It’s so crazy how normal it is in black communities where the mom is so jealous and hateful towards their daughters-thanks Jah for bringing this to light. Spice was 2/5 and drama was on 10! Can’t wait for the final book in this spin off!

Thoughts while reading:

This was messyyyy..I love it!!

RJ let that man go or go all in..

If Ju roommate do one more powder..

Mooskie can go to hell.

Meech can go to super hell.. now you about to be butt hurt.

Not the professor thou.

Shaheed a good look for Ju. Stop calling Mooskie your man..

Norma done been thru it but that don’t excuse her behavior. NONE OF IT!!

Sid go head and he at Big Reem

Not Reemie is Meech cousin.

The random ssa celery is frying me 😂😂

I knew it!!!! I put that shii together early in the game.. keep calling my man soft. The sneak dissin.. but I think the betrayal was the worth.. cuz RJ knew. You her brother dude.

This installment was focused on the children. Juleena was the primary focus. It picked up shortly after the end of the original series. The children were in college with Juleena being 17. There were some very real-world situations so much so that I forgot how young they were.

At any rate, the brothers Meech & Mooski were ummm something else. There were 2 "oh sh*t" moments that make me ready for part 2. Good job on the

Wow

This well written story is full of drama. Juliana has made a mess. Planning her life around her relationship with Mooski. She was all about him and he is all about someone else. Her cousin Sydney has been led astray by listening to her sorry excuse of a mother. A mother that is only using her and doesn't give a damn about her daughter. I can't wait for part two of this fire read.

😲😲😲😲WTH

Wow… that left me speechless! So when I tell you I have been deliberately dragging reading this book because I wanted part two to be out by the time I was done with it. I tried, I really tried, unfortunately it didn’t happen. Now I’m left with my damn jaws hitting the floor, my eyes wide open, and my brain running marathons trying to figure out what’s next! That ending thou…….🤯🤯🤯😲😲😲

Whewwwww chile

I KNEW ITTTTTTTTTT. I had a feeling this whole time that Mooski was RJ side piece. I just hope Ju leaves him alone and continues to take things slow with Sha. I really hope this was a wake-up call for Sidney to leave Meech alone and really give Reem a chance because a baby and sleeping with her momma Norma, it's no coming back from that. This read was too good. I'm shocked right now, Jahquel.

It’s not too often I enjoy a spin off more than the original but this spin off was full of mess and I ate it all up. Ju and Sidney are cousins living in NY. Both dating men in the game. Ju is in college and Sidney is a kept woman but she’s looking for her purpose.
Ju needs to make better decisions and Sidney deserves more from Norma and her ain’t shit dude.
I didn’t see the ending but OMG now I need to read book 2 because WTH!

I’m going to give this 4 stars only for the freaking cliffhanger. Lol. I was not expecting that whatsoever. The mama - Trifling. The boyfriends - TRIFLING! I’d give it 3.5 stars for keeping up with all these cousins, siblings, friends, etc. and their storylines. They were good, I just had to keep reminding myself whose POV I was reading. I’m finally trying to finish up series that I started a year or so ago

🎤 drops this book is straight 🔥🔥🔥

Baby the secrets are spilling out all over the place.. Sidney and Juleena have both been hit with ultimate betrayals and I can’t wait to see how both of these ladies come out swinging in part 2.. Side note I saw RJ’s side piece being exactly who it was so that was no surprise to me..

I knew it

I knew it was going to be somebody that he was sleeping with that she knew that was close to her. Man he's scandalous and RJ is too. No wonder he wants her to leave Mooski alone. Big Reem is bae. I hope he takes Sidney away from Meech. Don't get me started on her trifling a** mother of hers she all to be ashamed of herself. Hurry up part two.

SHEESH!!!!!!!!

When I found out this was a spin-off I almost didn’t want to read it but so glad that I did. Norma is a piece of work and I’m glad Sid finally knows the truth about who her father is and Meech. Although I knew there was something going on with Mooski, never would have guessed it was RJ. Can’t wait to get book 2.

When it rain it storm.

For these to be some young ladies, they are experiencing some things that older women’s has never. From dating to family problems. All of this is a lot for nineteen and twenty year old. I can’t wait to part two cause I’m just stuck on at all of this that’s going on with the young ladies at early age.
